Ok for the locals, they all turn to look at any strangers and are not very fiendly. Was that the landlord,a bit worse for drink, behind the bar ? Turned round and walked out !

Only called in her for a quick pint of real ale but I must say, that pint was superb. If you are in Brixham and fancy a proper pint then this pub must be on your list.

Stopped off here for a few drinks, whilst holidaying in Brixham. Good range of beers, excellent service. Altogether nice. Very popular with dog owners!

Went in this place about a year ago - it stank of dogs. Thought I'd give it another go; must have improved I figured. Wrong! The person who was attempting to serve me was obviously drunk so I asked to see the owner as there was no way this person should have been in the pub let alone working in... More

Upon a visit to Brixham today we tried The Blue Anchor, a board advertising 5 different ales tempted us in. To our horror the barman was absolutely hammered, and 3 of the ales advertised weren't available. Disappointingly there was only 2 ales on, London Pride and Doombar so not even local to the area. Even less Lagers. Sad to say... More

Good position by the harbour and at bottom of main street.Used to be very popular. New owner fond of a drink himself and treats his staff badly. Shame on him.

I called in for a quick pint, having been recommended to come here, I was disappointed, and can understand why some feel it unfriendly. When visiting a new pub on my own I like to find a quiet table in the corner, to enjoy the view, read my map or local guide book, and may be ask the bar staff... More
