Really good food and lovely atmosphere. Would recommend the beef pie, rich sauce and tender meat. Delicious.

This old country pub is one of my favourite eating places in Devon where you know the food will be delicious, the service excellent and a good time will be had by all. It always has such a friendly atmosphere. The selection of food is absolutely first class at very reasonable prices. Sardines were delicious as a starter. The main... More

Delightful old pub on a bridge over a river in deepest Devon. Superb blackboard selection- we chose sardines, scallops, rabbit scotch egg and a beetroot salad to begin. Followed by 3 John Dory and a burger with a big dish of delicious vegees. Lovely service, candles and old wooden tables. Would be fab in wintertime too with open fires. The... More

The last time I reviewed this fascinating, quirky country pub, it was like a glorified crufts, with as many dogs in it as people. Following a huge revamp and a fabulous make over, this is now a real gem of a place The food and service last night was as good as it gets. The whole team clearly enjoy their roles... More

We found this fantastic pub, whilst returning home on the M5. It's about 10 mins east of junction 27, just off of the A38. The delicious homemade food is complemented by a great selection of beers, ciders and wines! Very much worth the slight detour in our journey and hoping to repeat very soon!

We enjoyed a truly delicious meal at this lively and exceptionally friendly pub. Can't praise it highly enough, a great find. Good range of local ciders to was it down with too. The staff and service was professional and friendly, the piano playing in the bar gave a great atmosphere but the ample space around the tables gave opportunity for... More

Went here for lunch with some friends. We were warmly welcomed and recommended ciders to try as well being offered some to taste first. We were worried we'd be too late for lunch but the kitchen kindly stayed open for us. There's a really varied menu. I'm quite fussy but was pleased to see options I like. I went for... More

Great environment and nice welcome but none of our dishes were well delivered. Very fatty rib eye steak, beef rendang with little punch, scallop dish with far too little taste. Would still return when next in the area but will stick with pub classics from the menu rather than the restaurant style dishes.
