Called here for evening dinner and had a great meal. Book ahead as it's usually busy. Great selection of food and not too bad value. Dog friendly.

The food here was excellent. Beautifully presented, full of great flavours. The service was poor, especially in the bar. The staff had little or limited experience and knew little of products they were serving. Ordering a gin and tonic required 3 staff! Undermined an otherwise very lovely meal and pre dinner drink.

My friend and I shared a lovely evening meal in the restaurant of this hotel. I had fish and chips and the battered fish was the best I've ever tasted as the fish was still moist and perfectly cooked. The staff were perfectly attentive and friendly and it was a super evening.

I booked the table on line and to be fair if we'd turned up on spec we probably would have gone elsewhere as the whole feeling in the bar and restaurant was chaos. On arrival we were frog marched to a table and the staff member just walked away. After getting drinks from the bar, about ten minutes passed before... More

Can be recommended, a good quality hotel with an excellent breakfast and then you can join in with the New Year celebrations with ease. Use municipal car park to avoid any problems of parking near the hotel though.

We enjoyed a delightful light Sunday lunch here of their sharing charcuterie platter and the 'Full Monty' cheeseboard of 6 regional cheeses. They also serve wine in 'Flights' of two or three 100ml glasses of different wines, so we were able to able to sample /compare / contrast different wines with the food. Portions were not huge, but that was... More

Chagford is a lovely little town and it has attracted a monied clientele and has a number of restaurant servicing that market. The Three Crowns is a really good example of how more gastropubs should present themselves in Devon. Few do this sadly. The interior is lovely, full of nooks and crannies where you can east or chat and certainly... More

Nice place, pleasant staff and everything was very clean and attractively presented, but why did we have to wait an absolute age for an omelette and some pie? The biggest disappointment after the food had taken forever to appear was that the preparation and cooking of my wife's food had obviously started at the same time as mine, but mine... More

We stayed for one night on the bank holiday weekend and can highly recommend this quaint mix if old and new. We stayed in the suite which was spacious and with a huge bed and spacious bathroom and even a separate area to quietly sit and read. Beware this is in the old part of the pub and the floors...
