The pub is in a beautiful location overlooking a trout stream in a wooded valley. Very helpful and friendly staff, comfy room. Excellent home cooked meal, steak and Devon blue pie followed by sticky toffee pudding. Real log fire in the pub. Excellent walks along the valley. Clear starry night and we saw the Milky Way.

Thank you soniaEngland for your kind review. It's great to hear how much you enjoyed your stay with us. How wonderful that you witnessed such a clear night and were able to see the Milky Way. This is exactly why Exmoor has recently been awarded an International Dark Sky reserve - the first in Europe. If you are able to... More

We stayed at the Rockford Inn for a long weekend and we treated to excellent hospitality in this wonderful traditional pub the likes of which are sadly in decline. From the eclectic curiosities that line the walls to the warm welcome from the owners there is a feeling of being transported back several decades to when times were simpler. If... More

We visited the rockford along with our dog over the Christmas period. There were other dogs in the bar and all were made welcome. The menu was varied and the food cooked to order -I can strongly recommend the home made pizza - delicious. Well worth a visit.

We stopped here for lunch whilst walking in the area. We both had baguettes which where very handsomely filled. The lady that served us was very friendly and chatty. If you are ever in the area this is a truely Devonian pub, with great local produce, great Devon ciders and ales, very welcoming staff and worth losing a few hours... More

Just popped in for a beer on the way home from Lynmouth to Brendon. Welcoming log fire, very helpful staff, very good beer - what more can you want!? Will be back for food soon.

We were passing on a walk and dropped in for lunch, and glad that we did. OK, the food we had was pretty basic but the staff were friendly, the beer was good, the place has lots of charm, it's cosy and the chips were brilliant. I'm tempted to return and use it as a base now I have read... More

The Inn may take a bit of finding, but it is worth it. The rooms are very comfortable with excellent bathrooms. Downstairs there is a cosy lounge for guests and even more cosy bar areas with all the old features. Meals are of a high standard and not too expensive. The staff are all very friendly and capable. The only... More
