The restaurant is very nice and comfortable. Our food was very tasty and freshly cooked. We enjoyed the fish and chips -- the fish was hake and completely delicious with crispy, light batter. It was not greasy and light; a real step up for this...More

30 friends had dinner here on a Monday evening in July, a celebration 70th birthday. We had pre ordered our choices and the service and food was excellent. Its a big group for a small hotel but it was faultless. Delicious wines too.

My first try at getting into this restaurant was thwarted by the parking lot; not only was there no space, but I had to back out slowly with the help of a gentleman passerby. The next night, I opted for street parking, and was really...More

This is a charming hotel with lovely dining spaces. We chose to go there for lunch because of the conservatory. However the sandwiches we had were very poor for £8.50 each. Crayfish tail with lemon mayonnaise sandwich, sounded lovely. The white bread was bog standard...More

Dear Hilaire, Thank you for your feedback. I don't think I've ever had to answer criticism of a sandwich before. However, I am genuinely sorry that you did not think it was up to scratch. I will obviously take it up with the kitchen. Thank...More

We met friends here on a Saturday lunchtime. As we were early we went into a little side room and had teas and coffees. The restaurant itself is very well laid out and there is also a conservatory when the place is busy. The food...More

Dear Jeff S, Thank you for your feedback and I am glad to hear that overall your experience was positive. I will take up the issue of lactose-free dishes with the kitchen as this is something we are seeing more of. Happy to hear that...More

Dorset has many fine eateries, but you'd be missing out if you didn't give the Beaminster Brasserie, at the BridgeHouse Hotel, a try. Imagine the finest West Dorset produce from its luscious fields and bountiful sea served up in an historic setting with professionalism and passion. Whether you're looking for a quick, light, healthy bite, a delectable dinner or the best of the best business lunches, then you'll find it here. Our brasserie is beautifully chic, relaxed and with a lively atmosphere. You can choose from three unique eating areas: a candle lit dining room, Georgian panelled with conservatory; The Sun Room conservatory dining; And our wonderfully Mediterranean al fresco dining area overlooking the walled garden. Our manager Brendon Matthews and head chef Steve Pielesz have a great rapport which creates an original, tasteful dining experience. Together they have established a great following in this newly discovered, foodie destination of West Dorset. Steve's fabulous modern cuisine and our exclusive award winning wine list is perfectly complemented by the ideal setting. The restaurant is also a great choice for wedding receptions, group dining and entertaining.
