This is the 3rd time I've eaten at a Stable restaurant, twice at Bridport and once in Exeter. Have to say food was top quality, even better than our first visit 6 months ago. Restaurant was fairly busy for a Monday evening and with just one chef working we were surprised with how soon our food arrived. We both had... More

Ate here whilst staying in the Bull Hotel. We were late into the place and it was busy; staff were pressured but still very friendly. We were advised that there would be a long wait for our food, but we were happy that we were being fed at all, given the hour. We simply relaxed and enjoyed the - very... More

We are regular visitors here when on holiday. Excellent pizzas and pies if you want, great choice of real ciders and perrys, many local ones. Friendly helpful staff. Be aware it can get very busy and they don't take bookings so you may have a wait. We generally go early evening in the week and have never had to wait.

Stumbled across this place. Lovely, modern pizzeria which does platters and other things too. Lots of staff present for a quiet lunchtime over Easter but that meant we had great service and great food so not complaining! We would recommend it! They also appeared to do craft beer and ciders but it was a bit early in the day for... More

We'd planned an Easter Monday walk and pub lunch but reaching destination, found the pub closed! Had to walk back to Bridport where there are plenty of eateries but opted for meal in The Stable, having not visited for a couple of years. Really tasty pizza with original toppings and an equally delicious main course salad between us ... and... More

On visiting some friends in Bridport they took us to the Stable at the rear of the Bull Hotel, having eaten here a couple of times before they felt the food was good, but given that it was a Monday evening they were aware that the Stable was open for business, whereas many other local eating establishments weren't. We had... More

We visited on mid week evening. It was quite busy and the ordering of food and drinks was a bit slow. The food arrived fairly quickly though and the order was correct and food hot. Staff were quite attentive and brought us tap water and glasses when asked. Nice atmosphere but got very noisy so we left.

This is well worth a visit and in rather an unusual environment with two rows of three large tables so you sit next to total strangers but don't let this put you off there is a very friendly environment. The food is excellent (pies, and pizzas) and reasonable priced with so many ciders to choose from. There is an outdoor... More

Description
This is where it all began! Our first Stable restaurant, located at the back of The Bull Hotel in deepest Dorset. The story began in 2006 when Richard and Nikki took on the mammoth challenge of transforming a former 16th century coaching inn into a thriving boutique hotel. During The Hotel's revival they discovered the beautiful old stable block, which looked so far beyond repair they left it vacant for years. When Richard's brother Andy returned from his travels they came up with the idea to turn the space into a cider house, serving gourmet Dorset pizzas unlike anything else. In 2009, after a whole lot of hard graft, The Stable was born. It was a huge success and remains incredibly popular amongst locals and holidaymakers.
