14 of us for lunch were made very welcome. Good varied menu with something to suit everyone. Chicken curry was superb and the fish dishes looked very tempting. Definitely worth going back again.

Booked after reading good reviews. When we arrived there were only a few people in which was a bit worrying for a Friday night! However, we had a very pleasant meal. There were some really nice touches such as home made tomato sauce with my fish and lovely shortbread biscuits with our delicious chocolate and salted caramel mousse. What a... More

Very pleasant entrance with an open fire.Showed to our table, the whole place looked cosy and pleasant.A good and varied menu choice, different to what I normally see on a menu.Everything was delicious and the portions were large which makes a pleasant change.Nice tasting house white wine. Wish this place was nearer Swanage.

Without a doubt one of the best pubs. Atmosphere, staff and the food were all excellent. My husband had the steak and mushroom pie and felt it was best he had ever tasted.

Popped in yesterday and even though it was busy the great staff managed to squeeze us in. We all had the delicious roast and the deserts were amazing...especially the sticky toffee pudding and banoffi pie. Will definitely be returning next time we're in the area.

Excellent evening, quickly shown to table, Food ordered quickly. plates really warm, food hot, presentation superb! just the right amount of food blended together with separate veg. Looked after well with friendly, attentive staff. Overall, the atmosphere was snug, quite and relaxing, just what we wanted for a pleasant evening out combined with an interesting, tidy surrounding! recommend!

We went here for a birthday celebration one cold January night. There was a roaring log fire, a super 'mine host' and a lovely meal, home cooked from local products. Fabulous

A very pleasant pub with friendly helpful staff helped to make for an enjoyable lunch. The food was very good apart from the chips which did not seem home made but more like oven chips. One of our party had a curry which was excellent and one had a lamb shank which was very good. The chicken with bacon and... More
