We have a meal here a couple of times a year. Very comfortable atmosphere, welcoming staff and great well presented food. Very homely, not 5*.but have never been let down yet. Children are well catered for, with real chicken nuggets, sausages etc and are given colouring pages to occupy them. Great roast beef dinners are served which are awesome! Also... More

Called into the Halfway House Hotel for lunch and was not disappointed. Small dining area by the bar small but cosy with a lovely fire in the grate. Staff welcoming and friendly. Wendy always very courteous. Drinks order taken and water brought without being asked - always a good sign. Food ordered and trout was excellent. Another satisfied diner.

We were out for a drive and after visiting carrickfergus we drove along the coast road towards Ballygally for a walk. We arrived and realised hunger had hit so pulled in to the car park of this lovely hotel. The welcome was warm and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Good was very good, although I'm not a fan... More

We shared Brie starter and later I ordered fillet steak, Catherine had chicken on the bone, we were not disappointed, David the owner is magic nothing is any trouble, the staff are great and the hotel position beside the sea is magic. Do yourself a favour spoil yourself and visit you won't be disappointed

Just home from a delicious meal with my partner and his dad. The price was reasonable and the food was beautifully cooked. They have updated their menu from my last visit a few years ago. Nothing better than a tasty steak beside a roaring fire on a winters night.

An amazing wee place to have a bite to eat, food was outstanding can't fault it at all. Perfect when you have a real fire burning beside you to keep you warm coming in for the cold. Staff were so lovely and polite can't fault it perfect for any occasion highly recommended will be back in a heart beat!!

A quantity rather than quality kind of a place. Tired very dated decor, cramped dining room come bar area with tables squashed together. Uninspiring menu with 1970's and 80's classics such as Chicken Maryland and ice cream served in those classic stainless steel dishes. It's a shame as the location is lovely.
