We popped in for drinks on a Friday night but stayed for dinner as the atmosphere (roaring real fire, low ceilings) & staff were lovely. The place was very clean and the food was fabulous. We finished with the biscotti cake and ice cream. Yum!

We popped in here for afternoon drinks while walking some of the coastal trail. Lovely cosy place and the staff were great. Managed to get a table for dinner later that day and had a delicious meal, our favourite of the trip! Cullen skink and...leek and potato soup to start, duck and blue cheese and onion tart with chunky chips then we both had the apple tart Tartin for dessert. A very reasonable £100 which also includes 2 glasses of wine each. We will definitely return!More

Visit here ever other month and is our go to when in the East Neuk. Service , quality of food superb . Wife and I had fab starters. Mains … my wife had a Sea Trout Risotto which she loved . I ordered my favourite,...the duck. The duck being the second most expensive dish on the menu at £18.50. The plate had two very small strips of duck , about a quarter of a breast with pieces of pear and onion and a couple of raspberries - nothing else . The dish usually has an entire duck breast as you would expect. No veg. I’m more annoyed with myself that I didn’t challenge this ridiculous portion!!! The stater were larger than the main. Didn’t leave a tip and complained to the waiter but should have challenged him earlier on the issue. Nae happy !!!More

Whilst still a pub, it does lots of food, and although its better than pub grub, it's not fine dining and it isn't trying to be. Have the mussels they were very good. Very friendly staff and well worth a visit. Parking not easy.

We visited for a family dinner and yet again left extremely happy and full. Straight from arriving the staff were very friendly and attentive, particularly with my young daughter. Food was excellent and had some real quality to it, the deserts were a real treat....Drinks were superb with a really good selection for everyone. We’ve visited every year when in the area and are yet to find a fault.More

Popped in whilst walking our dog & booked a table just to be sure we got one. Great experience, service from arrival was really friendly & professional, sat outside in the terrace which was lovely. Had bread & olive starter to share with balsamic &...olive oil. Mains were crab linguine with chilli which had a perfect combination of taste & background heat also Halibut with lobster bisque risotto which was equally delicious. Had a Moretti & 1/2 cider whilst ordering & a bottle of Albariño with the main. Very dog friendly for well behaved dogs which our was for once. Overpaid the bill, as notes stuck together & we were followed down the street by front of house staff to inform us of the error. Only here a week but we will be back. Very reasonable too.More

Visited recently while staying nearby in Crail for the weekend. We got a lovely seat in the beer garden. We were only looking for a snack, so we both chose a big bowl of Cullen skink with lovely bread and butter. Soup was delicious! Best...of all was the lovely, friendly staff. We were made to feel very welcome and the staff serving us could not have been any nicer! Lovely clean toilets too. Would definitely recommend.👍More

Myself and my husband were here for dinner last night. As always the food was delicious and we had a lovely night. Unfortunately the only let down was our waitress (not the blonde girls, they were charming). The waitress was rude, obnoxious and arrogant. When...she brought the bottle of Rioca, which wasn’t cheap she just plonked it down on the table, when she brought the dessert menu she literally threw it over my husbands shoulder. Then when the bill came it was just thrown on the table. She has absolutely no manners, not once did she say thank you which is the most basic of etiquette! I would like to point out that the rest of the team were lovely and couldn’t do enough for you. It’s a concern that one member of staff could put guests off returning to your lovely restaurant . The food, surroundings and the rest of the team deserve 5stars however due to our treatment from one waitress I can only give 2 stars.More

We came to Dreel today after coming for many years. They said food was being served so we sat down and had a drink. The staff didn’t give us a menu we had to ask for one. The menu was main meals only and we...just wanted a snack. They said we could have a starter. Very expensive for a lunchtime meal. Staff didn’t seem bothered that we were there. Went elsewhere. Won’t be back.More

A poor experience with several issues. The menu is short, which is fine, until you start to run out. No Sunday roast, no hand cut chips at 7pm. Service for drinks and food extremely slow, although it wasn’t very busy 2 orders of mussels, both...with 50% not opening. Both replaced with another dish without a problem, but no recompense, either food, drink-wise or financially. Staff were very nice, but no zing in the service. Great to chat with friends but 3 hours for 2 courses, even allowing for replacing a course, too longMore
