Lucky us, there was a cancellation and we could get a seating at The Cellar, Anstruther. Every single course was beautifully presented and exquisite in taste. Considering that the four of us had different tastebuds yet we were utterly enthralled by each dish. And we...were still discussing the meal experience the next day! Compliments to the thoughtful and excellent service of the team as well. Highly recommended!More

We were self catering in Anstruther and the first we did when we arrived was to go to the Cellar to book in for dinner only to be told that they were fully booked (dinner and lunch) until the end of October (this was early...September). We were seriously disappointed but undeterred!! So we phoned in and managed to get a lunch reservation - WOW - loved the tasting menu but did not opt for the wine flight. The food was fabulous and my husband likened it to our last stunning lunch of this calibre which was Hospital Road (Gordon Ramseys 3 star) with Matt Abe as Chef de Cuisine. Service superb with lovely waitresses who knew about the food they were serving, a good pace of service and excellent wine choice. This is a hidden GEM!! Would highly recommend. The smoked haddock mornay doughnut and the dry aged duck were outstanding. Thank you for making this a very memorable meal for us.More

This restaurant was one of the reasons we came to Anstruther and we weren’t disappointed! Loved the food and the wine - we had both the tasting menu and wine flight. The decor and ambiance was relaxing and the staff lovely x Menu highlights were...the Lobster Thermidor bonbon, The ox tongue and the aged duck 🦆 Gorgeous 😍 Would have liked a bit more ‘theatre’ around the serving of the food. We struggled to hear what the waiters were saying through the masks. This reduced the experience a little.More

Absolutely fantastic dinner - we had the tasting menu with the wine pairing. Each course was beautifully presented. Our favourite last year was the ox tongue - still on the menu but had been revamped. If anything, it may have been better! This year the...stand out dish was the duck. So many tastes and textures. Service first class from beginning to end. Thank you Billy and team. Already looking forward to our next visit. That star is very well deserved.More

Visited this reatuarant, because we were given a voucher as a birthday gift from family who are aware we like a bit of fine dininng!! It really was a treat to eat here. The tasting menu was fabulous, and the girls serving the dishes were...on the ball and informative. We did not have the wine, but a gentleman next to us was doing the wine pairing and the staff handled the questions that he was putting towards them very well!! Its also a nice cosy atmosphere. We would reccomend the cellar to our friends and family.More

We were really excited to manage to get a cancellation for lunch this week & we certainly weren’t disappointed. From arrival to departure we were extremely well looked after by the front of house staff & their knowledge, enthusiasm & pride when explaining the dishes...was apparent. The food was amazing & the combination of ingredients & flavours were sublime. Every single mouthful was a delight & the paired wines were a definite match & some not what we would have picked. Even the coffee & sweet accompaniments were terrific. We’ll be backMore

Very classy dinner at the Cellar last night. Setting it lovely, menu is innovative and cooking was of the highest standard. Even the crockery entertains. I want those stone bowls. Duck was the standout dish. Can’t wait to go back.
