The end of the road but oh so worth going!! The food was outstanding particularly the scallops which we were told were caught by the owner's family. The atmosphere was fresh, upscale and felt at one with the location. We could not stop looking through the huge windows onto the ocean.

I came here with the family for an evening meal in late July. After visiting the Tomb of the Eagles (located nearby) we dined here and my word...what an experience! The food was all locally sourced and luckily due to arriving early, I was fortunate enough to enjoy the special of the day...Orkney half lobster. The seafood was freshly caught... More

After a good walk to the Tomb of Eagles and back we discovered Skerries at just the right time - lunchtime! We had a delicious seafood chowder followed by langoustines with a glass of white wine.

We dined here numerous times for both lunch and dinner during a long stay on Orkney and enjoyed every occasion. The spotlessly-clean and very modern Skerries Bistro is on the same site as Banks Neolithic burial chamber ("The Tomb of the Otters"). It has a superb view across the Pentland Firth and on a clear day there is no better... More

We had dinner here once dring our stay in Orkneys. The restaurant is on the top of te cliffs at the south of the main island. It's quite a long ride to get there (1/2 hour from kirkwall) but it's worth it! The main room has a woderful view on the sea and we could enjoy the sunset while eating,... More

We went one evening when the sun was setting - what a wonderful location! The food was excellent and the whole experience very relaxed. Suggest booking as off the beaten track, its easy to find but there are limited plan b's. Lovelly place and not many around where you canalso watch a short eared owl hunting.

Had read some reviews on The Skerries Bistro and knew I just had to visit. I called for lunch on a Tuesday as they are only open lunchtimes on Tuesday, luckily got there around 2.30pm just as the rush was declining, as I had not booked a table, but wow what a treat of really tasty fresh seafood that I...
