Let's just say that Girvan isn't blessed with many places to eat, but if you are there and want some proper home cooked food this is the place. Service is great and the quality is great also. Nothing flash or over fancy but what they do is excellent. Soups are always good and hot. Fish cooked perfectly every time. Well... More

Not very inviting from the outside but inside lovely and bright and if you are lucky enough to get a table at the window, lovely view across to the harbour.Very pleasant friendly staff and reasonably priced varied menu.Food was well presented, was nice and hot as were the plates and most enjoyable. Will be back again when in the area.

A group of 14 of us had our Christmas meal there and everything was fine till we got to deserts, 5 members of our group ordered the Honeycomb cheesecake, all of these cheesecakes were sour!! In fact I was informed the following day that the chef knew the deserts were "off". The waitress was appologetic and new cheesecakes were made.... More

My husband and I stayed at Brunston Castle but didnt fancy the pub grub from the golf club. Decided to try the Harbour Head for our tea which didnt look much from the exterior. But what a surprise when we entered the restaurant, it was very cosy and warm and we got a great welcome from Gaynor. The food was... More

Had a family meal at this restaurant. On the outside it doesn't look much and the interior ambience was a bit plain ,so wasn't that hopeful of the food. How wrong ! The staff are lovely and friendly and helpful , the menu choice was good with a good range of food types and the food quality was good .... More

Went for lunch whilst shopping in Girvan. Fish was cooked very well with lovely light crispy batter. Service was also very friendly. Would have no problem going back and would recommend to others

Trying to find a restaurant is a challenge but a friendly Scot recommended we try this place and the food was great. Nothing fancy but friendly service and good food. I can recommend the salmon.

Looks a bit unappealing but quite a lot of people eating. We were told what was off the menu (we were quite late for lunch) which always encourages me as it shows that food is fresh. We chose haddock and the chef came out to us and asked if we would have sole instead. It was gorgeous! My husband had... More
