The food is first rate - no doubt. But at these prices, I need to fill my belly and the foo foo cuisine is just not plentiful. But what I did eat was tremendous.

Our expectations for the Three Chimneys were, to excuse the pun, "Skye high". The food was incredible, the staff were good and we had an enjoyable night celebrating our honeymoon on Skye. We really enjoyed the bread and flavoured butter (as well as the extra...More

Had an amazing dinner there. Gordon took us into the hotel prior to our reservation, and we had a drink looking over a loch which was pretty special. We had all things local to Skye; venison, Pidgeon, beef etc. Wonderful meal, and great service. Highly...More

There's not much going on on the Isle of Skye. This was a pleasant distraction to pass some time and see the countryside. We had lunch reservations, so we left ourselves about an 1 1/2 hours to tootle thru the sheep pastures out to the...More

Eight perfectly formed courses, of delicate size and presentation, gave us a superb culinary experience and the accompanying wine flight couldn't have been better. We sampled wines we might not otherwise have tried. Our servers were friendly, informative and helpful - explaining each course and...More

We had three courses from the a la carte menu and we both enjoyed everything! The whole experience more than lived up to our expectations. Wonderful food served in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Hope to go back on my next visit to Skye.

The Three Chimneys Restaurant is one of Scotland's most iconic restaurants, set in a stunning location beside the sea in the north west corner of the Isle of Skye. Colbost is situated on the shores of Loch Dunvegan, a wide sea loch that opens into The Minch, the narrow stretch of sea between Skye and the Outer Hebrides. The views are stunning whatever the time of year. The Three Chimneys is famous for specialising in the freshest local produce including wonderful seafood from the immediate coastal waters. the restaurant has been owned by husband and wife, Eddie and Shirley Spear, for 32 years. The couple bought the traditional stone-walled croft house in 1984 and developed the business into what it is today, with an amazing worldwide reputation. The Three Chimneys has won countless awards and accolades. Head Chef, Scott Davies and his Brigade of young chefs are passionate about preparing and cooking the finest local ingredients, including seafood, eat and game. Innovative dishes and exciting taste combinations are served by a professional young crew front-of-house, who pride themselves in delivering skilful, but friendly and welcoming service at all times. there is an excellent Wine List and cocktails and other bar beverages, including a good range of malt whisky and Scottish gin, are served in the Lounge in the evenings to both house guests and restaurant customers alike. Advance bookings are essential and accommodation can be provided in The House Over-By adjacent, or in a number of good quality B&Bs and self-catering accommodation in the neighbourhood.
