Just back from a superb lunch today. All dishes were fantastic - the langoustine, scallops, partridge, cod and venison amazing and we then shared a wonderful strawberry pavlova. Excellent wine choices and then some lovely fudgy wudgy at the end! Staff here are amazing and...make the whole experience so relaxing and enjoyable. Read some mixed reviews on here too - no pleasing some folk!More

We booked this place well in advance and even then not far enough in advance because all that was available was a very early table, such is the popularity of the place. Couldn't really fault the food, alcohol or service; all great. My only minor...gripe was that I'm not sure it felt quite special enough to justify the bill but maybe looking at other reviews, that's just me being picky.More

The best meal I have ever eaten and lovely rooms. My only reticence in writing this review is the danger of it being booked.

Exceptional food, using the freshest of local ingredients. The flavours which the chefs have created are beautiful. The smoked salmon, partridge, langoustine are real highlights. The team really went above & beyond to make our experience memorable, particular thanks to Iona, Charlotte, Danny & Krzysztof....Would highly recommend.More

Wow - what an amazing evening!! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. The food was fantastic from start to finish as was the wine and the cocktails. Scallops were particularly delicious and would also highly recommend the mudslide cocktails....Our waiter (Callum) really made our evening - the service was excellent. Only potential improvement would be to perhaps have some quiet background music to add to the ambience. Would love to come back one day - thank you for a great dinner.More

Went expecting great things and we were welcomed warmly after a 40 min drive from Portree. The atmosphere was somewhat stark, not even any ambient background music just completely silent which made things feel a bit awkward everyone could hear every single word spoken. The...food was really good and service was completely attentive throughout. Prices were a little ridiculous for what was on offer though, we paid £16 for a small glass (125ml) of red and there was no wine list presented to buy a bottle until asked. All wines were served at 125ml by the glass which we felt was quite miserly, until we seen the dessert wine menu where glasses were served as 70 ml (equivalent to a double shot of spirits). The food was the same, a lot of money for not very much. The whole experience felt awkward and overpriced.More

The best dressed oysters I’ve ever eaten and will be remembered for a long time. They were Gin soaked with lime granita absolutely stunning! The twice dived scallops were fantastic too as was the pidgeon pie! We went at 6.15 and by the time we...left the restaurant was full and busy, we chatted with people from other tables in between courses and so I guess the atmosphere is what you make it, we found it to be friendly and inviting. The service was of the highest professional level and the staff were knowledgable, enthusiastic and friendly. I would say they definitely went the extra mile. Would be nice to see a reasonably priced house wine but other than that fantastic food, service and location. Thank you for a very memorable anniversary.More

Got really lucky and managed to book 2 seats at the chef’s table for lunch. It’s a set menu that explores the very best ingredients of the area, so crab, oysters, salmon and lamb are all prominent in the 7 courses. Lots of invention and...skill in creating very enjoyable and different dishes. Set in the kitchen of this busy restaurant, this was a privileged position to view the action.More

My husband and I booked the three chimneys to celebrate our honeymoon. I have heard wonderful things previously and were really excited to visit. The location is beautiful and the staff gave a warm welcome. The drinks selection by the glass was limited, one option...for traditional sparkling wine that wasn't exception and was expensive. The food was underwhelming, my husbands dish was over seasoned, and portions were small. The service was wonderful, that was certainly one thing they have got right, but overall £170+ for 2 courses, 2 oysters and a couple of drinks was painful. I have no problem paying for good food, however, felt this did not live up to reputation. Sadly we were disappointed and wished we had gone elsewhere.More

Over priced and lacking any atmosphere. Imagine eating tiny doll like portions of, admittedly very tasty food, in a library and you have the three chimneys. £32 for a, beef main with what was two mouthfuls of beef. Outrageous. Was glad to get out the...door....More
