On our last night in Memphis, we had an excellent dinner at Iris, about a ten minute drive from downtown. Our server asked where we were from and what brought us to Memphis. My girlfriend told her that we had visited Graceland, Sun Records and the Civil Rights Museum, but that we were also going to Little Rock and Bentonville,... More

Great food. Great service. We had been to Second Line a lot, but never here. Would recommend for a special occasion. Was upscale, but not stuffy. I am a vegetarian and there was nothing on the menu really. I let the server know, and they created a great dish for me!

It's always a treat when we can land reservations at Iris, and my husband scored for my birthday this year. Really nice ambiance -- lovely decor, tables are not all jammed up together and you can actually hear each other talk. I always order the brussels sprout salad with Benton bacon, and it is to DIE for! Everything else was... More

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner and we went through the entire menu. We shared the NOLA barbecue shrimp appetizer, perfectly cooked shrimp and a sauce that makes you ask for more bread to sop it up. We then tried salads, the kale and arugula salads. Delicious combinations of textures and flavors. Main course include the scallops and the grilled mahi-mahi.... More

This restaurant was mentioned in a NYT article on Memphis, so we thought it worth making the 15+ minute drive out from the town center and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is in a modern-looking victorian-style home. Others complained about noise from other diners--we had no problem in the other diners in the room that were were eating in... More

Although I would like to give 5 stars to the chef and staff who are wonderful, we had to endure two loud patrons who made the evening intolerable. Rather than keep their conversation reasonable and to their tablet like the rest of us, they made sure that the whole room heard them discuss their various views about several subjects. This... I'm a huge fan of Restaurant Iris as I consider it the best in Memphis. I have to say I was disappointed in my NYE experience. I understand doing a set menu, but restaurants should stick to doing the dishes that they are known for. I started with the cauliflower soup. It was tasty, but cold. They took it back... More

Our son and his wife took us here for dinner. They were excited to take us as they thought this was a top 50 restaurant. Everything was horrible. Appetizer was a smoked trout ravioli that was terrible. I ordered red snapper that was dry and salty and fishy! Let me say that being from Florida I know what good fish... More

We love to sample different and creative chefs' cuisines. Of course, Massimo Bottura's Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy, will always be tops in our pantheon, but Chef English's take on creating a new twist on New Orleans' tastes is also a gustatory adventure. Worth the effort and expense!

Interesting food in a lovely atmosphere. Good for a special occasion. We enjoyed the lobster knuckle and raviolo for starters and the duck and shrimp for our entrees.
