This place lives on its history. The floors are really dirty! The service was painfully slow! Eventually had to flag down a waitress to ask for a coffee top-up. Had the Fried Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich, which was nice - but took forever to...More

I've been to Memphis a million times.. and have flirted with the idea of going to the Arcade Diner.. but, something else always caught my eye or was "closer" to the part of town I was in. Big MISTAKE.. Party of 4 of us went...More

The AR is always a must stop for me when visiting Memphis. They claim to be the oldest cafe in Memphis. Who knows, maybe they are. Always a great lunch choice. Superb southern staples. Ask them about the Elvis booth when you visit. Highly Recommended.

What a terrific place for diner food, Memphis-style. The waitresses are friendly, the food is great (and there are lots of vegetarian choices for my friend), and the prices are reasonable. And it's located a block from the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine...More

This is a lovely old-fashioned diner right opposite Memphis' Amtrak station. There are booths, a breakfast bar an a second room with tables. The staff who work here are great - really charming and helpful. Portions are huge, food is good. I had some French...More

The oldest restaurant in Memphis. When you walk in it looks like you are back in the 1940's or 1950's. The breakfast is good southern food, and lots of it.

Checked this place out after 45 minutes wait. It's ok! Not as good as dennys which was closed. I guess it's historic on why people go there, but it was just ok.

We enjoyed being in this historical place, fun decor. My goatcheese salad was great, but the turkey sandwich very disappointing.

This is a Memphis institution and deservedly so if for nothing else then the sweet potato pancakes. A guaranteed fill up for the day.

There's a fair number of items that are dairy free, and they were happy to accommodate my dairy allergy by omitting the cheese! Enjoy!

Parking is on the street. It's not a high traffic area. I've never had to walk far.

As I recall the prices were on the moderate side. Probably under $10 each for a breakfast.
