Our hotel recommended this restaurant for lunch. This was lunch time and the restaurant was rather empty. I ordered the BBQ Platter which was okay . The restaurant boasts on their deeds with the Gumbo, though unfortunately we didn't get back to try this. I'm...More

I had the fried green tomatoes and gumbo. Both were fantastic. I would most definitely order them again. Some folks commented on the Decor. It is a bit dated/unusual. But I love, unique! Staff were great. Several went out of their way to make casual...More

I don't know what it was about this place but it felt dirty. Not sure why they have not cleaned it up. Made me wonder where the food was being cooked was it as dirty as the restaurant felt???

This place is right in the heart of Beale street. Great barbeque. cool atmosphere. Blues performed live while you dine.

They rave about their gumbo...multiple awards won in the 90s. It's not the best I have ever had, but it's very good. Nuce flavor with just the right amount of heat. The bowl is $9 and is a generous portion...good choice for lunch.

We enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was very good. The meal was god but not great. The gumbo was delicious as way the catfish. Chicken was warm and a bit overcooked. Music was great.

We ordered the barbecue meal for two. It included gumbo, voodoo potatoes, ribs, bread, crab cake and sliced pork or shoulder as it was called. When it came out, we were amazed that we only got one cup of gumbo to share! Since the entire...More
