Nice place to sit down and eat. The staff were very accommodating and served us food at the table. Had fish and chips with chicken nuggets, which were very nice and well worth the wait.

Went in to get fish and chips yesterday. The server was very pleasant but I noticed she kept checking the temperature of the fish pulling the fish out the fryer a total of three times. Chips were nice but the fish was absolutely abmissmal! It was definitely not fresh and the batter was about 2cm thick and uncooked. Having eaten... More

This chippie used to be the best chippie in Monmouth but we went there this week not realising it has changed owners and name. I believe it is now called the Priory chip shop. Unfortunately it has gone right down hill the chips were awful in fact the worst I've had in the last 10 years and the batter on... More

I waited 10 minutes for the fish to be cooked and the lady serving was pleasant. But the chips for me to put them in the bin when I was hungry must be shocking and the fish while cooked fresh was not good at all. I was so disappointed and what a waste of money and time. My son also... More

Had lunch here last Friday. Menu was as expected. Fish 'n' chips. We both had the cod, chips, mushy peas with bread and butter and a drink. Bill came to just under £20 which seemed ok for a reasonable lunch. It made a decent change from run of the mill pub-grub.

Alas the previously excellent Seven Seas II has changed hands (and name, now the Priory St Chippy I think) and has gone dramatically downhill. Our recent visit was horribly disappointing. The service, while friendly enough was rather unprofessional. The food was served in polystyrene trays rather on plates and the food itself was very poor. The chips were greasy and... More

Have been going here for years. Had a poor experience a few weeks ago, long wait and when we got home the mushy peas were stone cold, clearly they hadn't switched the warmer on! I thought I would give it another shot today. Waited 10 minutes for order to be taken, understaffed. The place looks as if it needs a... More

We have been going to this chip shop for years but just recently we have noticed that the portions have been getting smaller. The other day we paid £1.80 for a portion of chips and it was put in a little carton and im not joking it wasnt enough for even a little kids chips portion let alone a regular... More
