Skenfrith is hidden off the main roads between Abergavenny, Hay & Monmouth. Wonderful scenery and a riverside castle to explore (free). The hotel/restaurant is small, dog friendly (in one bar), plentiful parking, and spotless, with flagstone floors but modern decor. Lunch & snacks menu offers a choice of good share platters or soups, sandwiches, several 'standard' mains, and a decent... More

Only ever used the Boat but 'forced' to the Bell for dinner AND WE WON'T BE GOING BACK!! Pleaseant staff, lovely meal, good beers and fun 'locals'. What more could you want.

We had a delicious lunch here today. The staff are absolutely superb and everything appears to be run very well. The food was delicious, especially loved the trifle. You are made to feel so welcome and the atmosphere is warm and informal. Will certainly be back.

Just had the most amazing Sunday Lunch. It's was so good. Blue Stilton brûlée with a walnut and apple starter followed by a wonderful roast beef main with beautifully cooked veg and crispy roast potatoes. The desserts were also excellent. Staff very friendly. A great find, highly recommended.

This old pub has been sympathetically renovated and is now a comfortable light building with a premium feel. The owners take great pride in the quality of their fares and this results in good food and ales. The staff were friendly and professional and took an interest in their work. All this comes at a price but it still provides... More

The Bell is an outstanding place to stay. Its location is great, the food really top class, the staff (and owner) very friendly, the rooms unusual (in a good way), clean and quiet. This is just a wonderful place.

The Sunday Roast was a delicious home cooked meal very far away from home. The wild boar sausage was a special treat too. We went back a... More

We were staying at the Inglewood House, just up the road, and lost track of time and once we decided to go out to dinner it was almost 9. The owner called the Bell Inn asking if they could still prepare some chips or a quick snack for us. Not only did they prepare that but also some of the... More

Th Bell has lost none of its charm. On a summers evening what could be nicer to sit out in their garden sipping something sparkling before going indoors to eat? Th Bell has been a destination pub for a long time but is it still worth visiting. The answer is both yes and no. It still can hold its head... More
