We stayed here for two nights were very disappointed firstly not to be in the lovely chateau (in a new build lodge in the grounds) secondly cleaning of the room left a lot to be desired and thirdly the breakfast on the second morning took an hour to get a cooked breakfast. On the plus side food (when you received)... More

On arrival was told our table was waiting and "hurried" down to our table. Was put off from having a pre dinner drink in the bar. The small room downstairs was a little cold, a bit claustrophobic and no background music. Approx 5 other couples dining. The staff were very polite and helpful. The food was excellent. Just felt that... More

Four of us enjoyed an afternoon tea here in September. It was great. Excellent food and service and views to die for. Well worth a visit. The only downside was that we had a £100 voucher to use there but were refused it's use as they "could not give change for a voucher" surely they could have given the change... More

Chateau Plas Rhianfa is a beautiful building with wonderful views across the Menai Strait. I visited with my partner and 2 other friends for dinner. Having announced our arrival at reception we had drinks in one of the rooms overlooking the strait, watching the sky go red and pink as the sun set behind us. Unfortunately that was the best... The Dragon Restaurant consists of 3 connected rooms. The breakfast buffet being served in the smallest. Our table was by the window with an outside view. We ordered the pan seared local scallops for starters but the Chef thought the scallops, delivered that morning, were too small and we were offered Cod cheeks in tempura batter as an alternative. An... More

To celebrate our Diamond Wedding Anniversary on 1st September, we decided to book Indulgent Dining, Bed and Full Welsh breakfast at Plas Rhianfa on Anglesey, because we had been there on a previous occasion when we thoroughly enjoyed a Sunday Lunch shortly after they were available to non-residents. We arrived in the afternoon and taken to our room, which was... More

This is a gorgeous old building. The staff were lovely, the food was great, our room was spot on and the views are wonderful. Our little boy had a bed in the turret just off our room which was very special for him. Are you sold yet? Well for every Yin there's a Yang. The beds in our room were... More

This is a lovely hotel in a lively location. However, the afternoon tea was a real disappointment. With the grandeur of the plas, we expected to be offered a selection of loose leaf teas and were surprised to be served PG tips. It would also have been nice to have china cups and plates, rather than the standard crockery you... More

We spent the day here for a business event which included coffee and snacks, lunch and then dinner. First off, the place is amazing architecturally and deserves exploring - it is modelled on a French chateau and is perfectly positioned on the Menai Straits looking across to the (snowy, on our visit) mountains. The gardens are lovely and u would... More
