Visited here at the start of May, as a base to explore the whole of the area. We booked it based on the photos on the internet and its location, next to the Menai straight and its views of Snowdonia, upon arrival we were not disappointed by the views, and had a drink outside to take advantage of the early... Top draw meal, mushroom soup was amazing. Service was great, the steak and chips with peppercorn sauce was out of this work. Peroni on tap and dark fruits. 10 out of 10. Oh and the kids pizza and chips was top drawn. Definitely be back again.

My husband and I have just returned from three nights at this lovely little inn on the banks of the Menai Straits. We had room 11 in the annexe which had spectacular views. It wasn't a big room but we were very comfortable and slept really well.My only criticism would be that it could do with a bit of an update and... We visited this hotel for three days in May and were very lucky weather wise..clear blue skies. This showed off the fantastic views over the Menai Straits and mainland Wales. We had room 3 which overlooked the Straits and was a lovely view to wake up to each morning. Tea/coffee making facilities are in each room as is a flat... More

My husband had to visit this location for work, so we decided to revisit it at the weekend. We drove two and half hours to get there. It was set in a beautiful location, right against the waters edge. We were sat right against the window and had a clear view of the water. That was really nice. We choose... More

We were looking for a lunch out by the sea. The location is brilliant: beautiful views and lots of boat activities to watch. But the building itself is grubby and run down, the staff were friendly but slow, and the food was basic. We had starters and main courses and the portions were generous but the vegetarian options were particularly... More

We booked beforehand, but it seemed to be quiet night and there were very few in the restaurant. We had some time to wait for our food, but when it came it was tasty and plentiful. Great views across the Menai Strait, and I'm sure the place would be much busier in the height of the season.

Sat on the edge of the strait in the sun with a perfectly pulled pint of Robinson's Unicorn. Fab service with drinks bought out by the staff. We had steak butties and ploughmans, all freshly prepared and well presented. Sit with your face to the see and enjoy the wonderful views of Bangor pier, the woodlands around Bangor and the... More

Description
This hotel and restaurant sits in a spectacular location overlooking the Menai Straits on the Ismand of Anglesey. Recently under new management it offers a wide range of cuisine from bar meals to a full dining room service. A good range of beers and wines are available and a menu with some good choices often with locally sourced ingredients. Local mussels and fish are specialities and well worth a try. With friendly and helpful staff and meals at very reasonable prices this is a lovely spot to enjoy a relaxing spot, good food and drink with superb views over the Straits. In the summer months. outdoor dining at tables at the water's edge is particularly pleasant. It can get a little crowded in high season but bookings can be made for the restaurant to avoid disappointment. During Spring and Autumn it is rarely crowded but has a good all-year round reputation with local customers. The hotel is residential and has a good reputation but, never having stayed there myself, I cannot comment on the residential element of the hotel.
