A really friendly pub with a nice atmosphere and excellent mid range food. The menu was quite wide ranging and we both enjoyed the hot filled baguettes. Hand cut chips were a splendid option. The place was busy with mainly local customers enjoying a relaxed lunch or maybe they'd all breakfasted and were keeping the coffee going.

Six of us, including four adults and two children, recently enjoyed a Sunday roast at the Bank Pub and Restaurant in Knighton, and it was undoubtedly the best we've ever had.
The meat was incredibly tender and simply melted in our mouths. The gravy was divine, and the accompaniments were exquisite – creamy cheese leeks and perfectly cooked fresh vegetables.
We started with whitebait and mozzarella sticks, both of which were delicious. For dessert, the black forest cheesecake was light and fluffy, while the apple and rhubarb crumble was perfectly tart and not overly sweet, accompanied by a divine custard.
The customer service was exceptional. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, allowing us plenty of time to enjoy our meal and conversation.
We highly recommend the Bank Pub and Restaurant for a truly memorable dining.

After a day spent walking, I popped in to The Banc mid afternoon for a late lunch and ended up staying for the disco in the evening which was fun. It's a really relaxed and friendly place to visit when travelling solo. The food and service are excellent.
I chose the rump steak which was served with chips, peas, tomatoes, onion rings and a delicious mushroom followed by the rich chocolate mousse. It was the best steak I've been served anywhere in the UK and as I was informed supplied by a local butcher Pugh's.
When in Knighton this is definitely the place to go for a good meal and excellent choice of ales! Thank you to The Banc.

We visited to celebrate our friends 60th birthday. The food was hot, beautifully cooked and very tasty. Customer service was excellent. The pub has been tastefully decorated, keeping many original features from it's previous life as a bank. The staff and locals were very welcoming and keen to explain the history of the pub. Definitely worth a visit.

We visited here by chance and are so glad we did! We were 3 hours into a 6 hour drive home so needed to stop and we really couldn’t have found a better place. As soon as we arrived, Jacqui was really friendly and attentive, providing a highchair for our toddler straight away. Our drinks came very quickly and once we’d ordered our food, that came very promptly too. It was all absolutely delicious. So fresh and great quality. Silicone cutlery was also provided for our toddler which was amazing - the first place I’ve ever known to do this! If we didn’t live nearly 3 hours away, there’s no doubt we’d be back again!

Having been to Knighton over the last 2 weekends house viewing we have eaten there twice. Really friendly and welcoming, child friendly, dog friendly, perfect place to meet for a coffee, brunch, evening meal or just drinks. Building has a lovely interior including the snug which was the old bank vault. Special mention to Deb behind the bar who was really attentive when we told her about our house hunting in the area and made us feel so at home. Definitely our local when we move.

Love this place! Best food, friendly and welcoming staff and atmosphere. Always made to feel welcome for coffee and cake or tea and cake and lunch or dinner (no cake but delicious puds) It's right in the middle of town so on a warm day you can sit on the terrace and watch the world go by. Inside is warm and comfortable when it's chilly. Thank you Craig Jackie, John and Josh.

There’s a nice outdoor space in front of this pub so it was a shame to sit inside but we were booked in as a group. The food choices are standard fare, burgers, salads, sandwiches, fish and chips etc at average prices as was the quality. No one was unhappy with their meal but no one was ecstatic either! The lady serving was covering the bar, taking orders and delivering food and the kitchen also seemed a bit stretched so we waited quite a while for our lunch.

Visited recently following a family break to the area.
As a party of six we arrived, were seated quickly and ordered a delicious Sunday lunch.
Two of the group had the whitebait starters which were of a good size and well cooked.
Of the main roasts, the portions were of a good size and were accompanied by plenty of vegetables, gravy and creamed leeks that o my added to the meals.
One of the party had the sticky toffee pudding and reported it was beautiful!
We would return and would definitely recommend for a lovely Sunday lunch!

We popped in here on the off chance of a table and the guy behind the bar couldn’t have been more attentive and managed to fit us in.
The food wasn’t the best unfortunately, we had read the reviews and all were great so maybe we just got unlucky as it was busy.
Kids chicken goujons were ok but a bit over cooked and chewy, chips were lovely and a decent portion .
Chicken and pesto with mozzarella was nice but there were a few gristly bits of chicken.
Hubby had a chicken burger but it was very over done, half of it was just over cooked batter and it was really dry.
Most disappointed was my son with his warm choc brownie that looked amazing but it was so dry and tasted really bitter, it was like eating soil.
Such a shame as lovely front of house staff and atmosphere was nice too.

Excellent Sunday lunch - roast beef with all the trimmings The Banc was very busy however we were served quickly by attentive and friendly staff. The main course including the beef was cooked to perfection, a great selection of fresh vegetables including delicious leeks au gratin.
Suffice to say it’s definitely our go to place for Sunday lunch!

This little gem in Knighton has the most gorgeous food! The chef is brilliant. We have enjoyed 4 Christmas dinners there over 2 years and I chose it as the venue for my dad’s 80th birthday celebrations. Each time Craig has been super. He’s never far from taking a drinks order and we never have to wait too long for anything. The Banc truly impresses!

Had lunch and dinner here many times with friends and or family. The food is consistently good and the menu original, offering everything from a toasted baguette with a Welsh Rarebit filling to steak from the local butcher or fish and chips. The atmosphere is delightful because the staff are warm and welcoming. As a woman, I will happily arrive early to meet a friend and feel at home and comfortable, which is not something I feel in most pubs.

Excellent food, great atmosphere, friendly staff, would go back. We had the Tuesday night “Grill menu” - great prices for excellent quality. Kids food portions were big - kids were very happy.
