A rare find! amazing food in taste and presentation worthy of a top London restaurant. All food is gluten and dairy free. This is a win-win for those who scan every menu only to find the same one thing offered everywhere. At the George and dragon all the delicious choices are available. The menu is mouthwatering with so many fabulous choices you will want to keep returning to try them all. If that is not enough, Head Chef can tailor your choice to suit your taste.

I had heard many fab reviews regarding this establishment. It was a hrs drive from where I live (Hereford ) but omg !!!! Amazing !!!!
Due to my husband & I working on Christmas Day. We booked a table for Sunday carvery as our Christmas day meal. Just wow !!!!! The friendliest staff as soon as we walked in. When it was our turn for the carvery me being me I went to ask the chef on duty what was gluten free so I could work out what I couldn’t enjoy. His reply was everything here everything is gluten free & welcome home ! I was so overjoyed to be able to enjoy all the extras that I generally miss out on. I chose beef & turkey cooked to perfection!!!
Pudding choices were also amazing !!! Not just ice cream
I would definitely recommend coming here for a meal the atmosphere and attention to detail was outstanding, we are already looking forward in returning for a valentines mea

My son, my partner and I travelled here from Brecon (roughly an hour and a quarter car journey.)
This place attracted us with my partner being gluten and lactose intolerant and the entire menu was designed for people like her. We were greeted by a friendly barman and he pointed out to our table for the evening which also had enough room for our sons’s pushchair. We were then served by a fantastic waitress I believe was called Rhian. Once food and drinks were ordered we had some time to have a look at the warm and comfortable restaurant. Our starters arrived which were meatballs & linguine- absolutely delicious. We then had a short wait for our mains which were lasagne and a burger which were equally delicious!
Half through our mains my girlfriend became unwell (something she suffers with from time to time) and Rhian could not be more helpful and understanding. She very nicely packed away the rest of my partners dinner all separately. Rhian also made sure we still went away with a takeaway dessert, the chocolate brownie which is incredible.
All of this being amazing I think the finishing touch was the fact that the landlady made an effort to go around and speak to every table eating that evening, a really lovely and sweet person!
I fully recommend dining here with or without the intolerances would give 20/10 if I could.

Had a fantastic meal here for my birthday. Being celiac it is hard to eat out and be able to trust places not to cross contaminate, but being completely gluten free there was no worry at all. First meal I’ve ever felt comfortable eating out. Food was amazing, my husband is fussy when eating out but he couldn’t fault anything at all, all cooked perfectly, portions are huge and excellent value for money. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Thank you so much for creating this safe space, we will definitely be returning for the Sunday carvery.

We booked to eat on our way to a weekend break because it was convenient and because one of us is coeliac so needs gluten free. The whole menu is gluten and dairy free but the choice is better than a lot of pubs with eating options, plus there's no premium to pay. We really enjoyed the food and the landlord was very friendly and accommodating, highly recommended to all, not just those needing the gluten free options.

We came for the Christmas carvery. We were on a weekend break and decided to stop here as they are a completely gluten free restaurant and one member of our family requires a gluten free diet. We arrived to canapés on the table and it was set up beautifully for Christmas with crackers and mulled wine was brought out to us. We headed for the carvery and had a delicious and wide selection of meat and vegetables. One member of our family is vegetarian so they separately cooked not only a vegetarian wellington but also vegetarian gravy. The food was beautifully home cooked and delicious. We then ordered our trio of deserts which was basically three full sized portions of the most delicious puddings ever. We couldn’t finish them all but we got Tupperware to take it all home in. We then were served homemade mince pies which we also had to take home as we were so full. Not only did they cater very happily to all of our dietary needs, but they were probably the most welcoming, friendly and wonderful hosts. It felt like being home for Christmas. Thank you so much for a wonderful meal and a wonderful time.

There are not enough words for how wonderful this place is! We came for lunch and had the vegetable pie and the ham, leek and chicken pie - they were so delicious and all the trimmings (chips, mash, veg) were incredible too! Cannot recommend the cheesy garlic bread enough too. We had the chocolate torte for dessert which was the best we’ve ever tasted. The staff were super friendly and chatty, willing to help and cater for any needs, and gave us everything we could’ve asked for. As someone who has been severely gluten intolerant for 3 years, this was the most enjoyable and relaxing dining experience I’ve had in a very long time, not having to worry about what to order and being able to enjoy all the incredible food on the menu was just wonderful, thank you so much!

Wow 🤩
This is such a special place! The food is incredible and the people are so wonderful.
Mike was very welcoming, friendly and hospitable. Malcolm went above and beyond to ensure that we could try as much of the tasty food options as possible. I had freshly made scones for lunch one day… ‘sweet or savoury?’ I hear you ask… both! They were divine!
We stayed for 2 nights and had so much delicious food. My husband (not gf) said it was genuinely some of the best food he’s ever had.
It was amazing to go somewhere where I could choose anything from the menu (I’m gf and df). And even better- it was all so tasty.
We will definitely be back! They are stuck with us now 😂

What a gem of a place. Nothing disappointed. Being coeliac it's always a nerve wracking time eating out. This wonderful establishment is 100% gluten free and it was a great feeling to be eating out again feeling relaxed about food choices in a beautiful setting.
The staff were attentive and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Any additional allergies /preferences (such as vegetarian and dairy free) were and could be catered for.
Compliments to the chef, the food was outstanding. All of our party consistently commented on how good the quality, flavour and standard of the meals we ordered were. We had a few adjustments to the meals that differed from the menu - plain rice instead of egg fried, could the steak be made with a peppercorn sauce ? Without hesitation these requests were met - now that's customer service.
I do hope The George and Dragon continues to thrive. If you do not require Gluten Free dining please don't discount it as an option - our party of non coeliacs said they'd never have known they were eating gluten free food and also commented that the price we paid for our meals was no different to eating out elsewhere in the area.
In summary, thankyou for an evening of great customer service and yummy food. We will be back and will certainly be recommending.

My family and I went for a Sunday carvery which I had booked due to there being 8 of us in total. I was given the choice of the 12pm sitting or the 2pm one.
The bar was very busy so we had a bit of a wait to be served our drinks but otherwise you couldn't fault the service.
A great choice of meats and vegetables available.
The food was lovely, all the meat was really tender and cooked to perfection as we're the vegetables.
We will definitely be back

Great gluten and dairy free full menu. The staff are very knowledgeable about allergies and there is no gluten or dairy on the menu so no worry about cross contamination.
The food was outstanding and the service was superb. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is coeliac.

I have been desperate to visit here for months to try the carvery, it didn’t disappoint and was very much worth the 4hr drive. Great food and very friendly staff. First time in over 15years where I didn’t have to worry about whether they cater for gluten free and was amazing to be able to eat everything on offer (Yorkshire puddings especially 😊) and feel safe in doing so.
Stayed overnight in the family room, very clean and cute. Breakfast was also brilliant.
We all really enjoyed our stay with you… thank you so much.

Traveled from Worcestershire for the gluten free Sunday carvery and wasn’t disappointed. So nice to be able to go somewhere with my coeliac son and know he is totally safe to have whatever he wants.
The food was lovely, the pub itself has a really nice feel to it and all of the staff were very welcoming- we will definitely be back.
There’s even a nice walk by the river (Offas Dyke) where you can cross over the Welsh/English border- ideal for walking off all those roast potatoes!

What a lovely place inside. Very lovely polite and helpful welcoming staff.
Food and Bar Gluten Free Every allergy was on the menu and Staff expressed any other allergies to tell them.
The meal we had was beautiful and very filling left feeling fully satisfied.

Came on recommendation and was not disappointed. The food was delicious and of a very high standard for quality and taste. Well worth the drive across. Wonderful hospitality and service. Would highly recommend. I have never felt safer than when eating here. It was such a relaxed experience knowing that everything was gluten and dairy free. There were also gluten free beers and dairy free ice cream.
This was a wonderful anniversary experience. The head chef is extremely knowledgeable and experienced and is passionate about offering food that can be enjoyed by everyone; nobody is discriminated against for their dietary needs. A must for anyone that is celiac, gluten or dairy intolerant. Will definitely be back.
