We first arrived at the Small Bar for drinks. I read about it, and it sounded like such a chill environment. And so we came in for a couple of drinks, and it was really lovely, and everybody was so welcoming, and then… We saw they had Taco Tuesday. And we were excited, as the taco varieties look great, but it was not a Tuesday, sadly for us. We resolved to come back.
For drinks, we sat outside, because it was a bit of a mild day, but when I went inside and saw the courtyard, I knew we would have our Taco Tuesday in the interior courtyard one day. The courtyard was the perfect combination of sparkling and cozy. We were staying in the area for several more weeks, and so we put it on our calendar.
A couple of weeks later, on a Tuesday, we came in and sat in the courtyard; it was fairly early, so we were some of the only customers, and the tacos were exquisite! So inexpensive, so chock-full of goodness. We paired them with the spicy margaritas which perfectly complemented the tacos, and… Wow. Such fun. Our server was super friendly, and the courtyard was cozy even though it was a bit of a chilly day. Two tacos per plate (times three different versions) was certainly enough for dinner. And the flavors were really well-balanced. The hoisin duck was awesome! The fish was also very good. The only disappointment was the smoky pulled pork, because we felt that the barbecue sauce was a bit thick. We are from the American south, and so we love barbecue sauce, but we use it a sparingly, because it can be overpowering. So maybe if they pulled back a bit on the barbecue sauce with the pulled pork.
Overall, we were thrilled with the tacos, and the service, and the price, and the margaritas. If we lived here, we would be back on a regular basis!

Thanks to Oscar and the small bar team for looking after my daughter and her friends so fantastically last night.
You really gave her an 18th birthday evening to remember.
They all loved it and you have for sure gained new loyal clients in the coeliac guests who have a very small number of restaurants they trust.
We will all be back soon

We had a wonderful lunch at Small Bar, sitting outside in their courtyard. Sharing a variety of dishes from the menu including delicious guacamole, duck tacos, calamari, and cauliflower. All really yummy!!

Loved the wine list, food was delicious, service was attentive and friendly. Great for a small group Friday Night catchup. Started off indoors which was cosy, full of activity and Friday night noise. Before the food arrived, we were able to move out to a table in the back garden area… a little quieter and perfect for chatting. Undercover and a heater…. Pretty lighting, cosy atmosphere and did I mention delicious food 😁

One of the most uncaring, lazy and poor restaurants I have been to. No love. No real service. "Whatever mate" attitude. The arancini were nice but the barramundi 'tempura' (ha) was a frozen piece of nothing. Resembled a Mac Fillet-O-Fish. Tacos were meh.
This place is toilet. To the brim. Don't go.

Took myself on a date to Small Bar in November and I can't wait to come back. The food was delicious and the wine list extensive. The vibe is great, with caring staff and a beautiful interior. It is understated and I can't wait to come back on an actual date. The right amount of busy but chilled.

after our Italian lunch at Peter Pans that started at 12 noon we finished eating at 4pm and went to the Small Bar that opened at 4pm. Some lovely beers here on tap plus loads of Bottle choices. We have the Jalopena stuffed peppers as a snack delicious the staff are particularily friendly here and it is our usual after lunch drinking place.

Really cute courtyard with fairy lights - very romantic. The food was absolutely superb. Will be back again very soon! Highly recommend the cauliflower wings and bean tacos! YUM

Taco tuesday. $3 each with $5 Coronas. Hard to go past. So I didn’t. I stopped for a while and had the jerk chicken, pulled pork and duck. All were excellent but I especially liked the jerk chicken. A long narrow establishment with a nicely stocked bar, a pleasant place to spend a couple of hours. Friendly prompt service and reasonable prices made it a very enjoyable visit.

Very cosy place and the drinks are reasonably priced. Lots of sound and atmosphere here and you can find all sorts of places to sit and chat with friends. very comfortable and a good start for the night's entertainment. Beats the pub atmosphere hands down

Held a large function here in June 2018 and their management of the food and dietary requirements, which had been pre-agreed and confirmed a month beforehand was terrible. 2 hours after food service was due to start, people with dietary requirements started to receive their meals. One person had severe allergy to tomatoes, and they produced a platter with BBQ sauce on the food (main ingredient of BBQ sauce is tomato). If you have a party with people without dietary requirements, then this venue may work as it is beautifully set out. But if not, I wouldn’t bother. They offered compensation for the issues, but it never eventuated!

Situated on the restaurant strip of Crows Nest, this bar has patio, inside and a back seating options. The back garden has been done up well and its easy to forget that one is in a major city.
Good selection of wines on offer. Food and drinks are ordered and paid for at the bar. You carry your own drinks and the food is served to you.
Good choice of tapas style eating options.The Grazing Board "land and Sea' option has tacos, meatballs, sliders and fried calamari, all well cooked and nicely presented.

Met some friends at Small Bar. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and great food. We just shared a couple of entrée type dishes and they were delicious. Haloumi, calamari & arancini - YUM

We had a great time at Small Bar with a large group of friends. The atmosphere was great and the service from the staff second to none. They looked after us so well. Our whole group loved the food and service was quick. The tacos on the menu were delicious and everyone raved about the sliders too. Would love to come back when we are next in Sydney.
