We have had several enjoyable meals at Le Bouchon normally with 1 or 2 other couples and the food & service has always been excellent. Yesterday we had our “boys Xmas function” with a table of 15, which is a test for any restaurant. The...service was great and everyone commented on how good the food was. My Fillet Steak was perfectly cooked MR which is no mean feat with a large group. Tres bien merci.More

Last night we ordered takeaway from our favorite North Shore French Restaurant - Le Bouchon. Everything we had was really delicious. Thank you in these hard times. We will do it again. A & A Thomson

Hot food served cold on cold plates is the sign of a lazy kitchen. It was a busy Friday evening and service was slow. Not a problem as guests our hosts and ourselves had much to chat about. The first course of goats cheese soufflé,...seared scallops and steak tartare were enjoyable and no complaints. The issue came for the main course. having waited for three quarters of an hour again no big issue for us but was a tad too long. When the meals finally arrived my pork - a special - was cold on a cold plate. My wife’s Bouillabaisse was also warm not hot again in a cold dish. I asked our hosts if it was alright to point out to the waiter about the cold dishes - the answer was ‘Yes’. This was not to ask for a discount/refund it was to make the restaurant aware. I subsequently told the waiter. He attitude came across as arrogant, a quick begrudging apology followed by a stinging rebuke for not telling him earlier so that they could have done something about the problem. he has a point but that was not the way to present his solution. To have a meal returned and heated would have meant we sit there whilst the other members of the party eat their meals - not conducive to an enjoyable and expensive meal. Following this ‘rebuke’ from the waiter we heard nothing further - customer care. ZERO. I did find it ironic that the crepe Suzette I ordered came with much alcohol on board so that when the waiter lit the dish as is traditional the food wa temporarily very hot, I am sure i saw a rye smile on his face! The crepes were terrible thick and rubbery. The other three desserts of Chocolate marquise, 2x ile Flottante were given the thumbs up. I know that the restaurant has a good reputation as a french food establishment. There is a good vibe, by an large the waiters are professional and attentive but if the kitchen makes a mistake they should know how to handle the customer however busy, however long their day might have been. Please restaurants hot food on hot plates.More

We ordered the seafood chowder for the entree to share and it was amazing. We followed this up with the special of polenta crusted salmon and the beef fillet. The beef fillet was superb and came out exactly as I ordered. The Salmon was pretty...bland and could’ve used a nice sauce to compliment it and give it some flavour. The service was excellent but they are very good salesman with drinks, sides and especially dessert. We will definitely returnMore

Duck was very dry - disappointing. Steak frite were fine but the crepes were a major let down - reheated but served cold. Not the way a purported Lyonnaise restaurant would serve a signature dish

we were here for lunch. food was just average, taste was rather dull, in particular the duck breast. taste was lacking and the juice did not go along with the duck. kind of disappointed in fact. we were losing confidence on the food as we...ate, did not even bother with dessert.More

The duck was hard and leathery. It was also only a small piece with not much garnishing and the calves liver were hard to find in the plate. Altogether most disappointing as we had been looking forward to a good meal. Service was fine. The...sorbet was too sweet and we couldn’t eat it. It is all very expensive considering we came away hungryMore

We dined as a group of friends for lunch at Le Bouchon. We had booked an outside table and even though the temperature was little warm the plastic canopy was able to be opened and a very pleasant breeze was available. The service was very...good, with much humour. We were warmly welcomed for trying our newly, and basic, French and given amusing but very useful feedback. The meals were great. Escargot in garlic for entrée was lovely. I had a steak fillet "a pointe" which was delicious as was the "Ille Fontant" desert. My friends all spoke well of their meals and we had a lovely lunch. Will return. Merci!More
