Superb. Hidden gem in crows nest.
Staff were superb. Highly attentive, fast service. Great eye contact and always had a smile.
3 female chefs. U rock, ladies!
Food was excellent. For a seafood restaurant, my sirloin was perfect. My kid’s beef short rib dish had a shiny bone at the end which says it all. My wife’s orange roughy was served crumbed and not grilled as ordered. No problems! Apologies all around, no fuss, a quick whisper to say the new dish is almost done, this was a Masterclass in service.
Then we ordered desserts. Omg, if mains were the sky, Garfishs desserts are extraterrestrial. Pastry chef, whoever she is, take a curtsy. I love my desserts and your bomb with yuzu jelly is a true 5star dish.
I pay my respects Garfish, and tonight my wife n girls go to bed full n very happy.

For what has always been such a reliably good restaurant, sadly our last experience was not up to scratch. Firstly they have removed the ability to BYO, which came as a surprise, then more importantly the salmon we ordered as medium came out very over cooked and rubbery. My fault for not saying anything at the time, but I was starving and ate it anyway.. haha. Yes I’ll go back, but I will be certain to remind them of the medium cooked expectation.

We moved to the area about 18 months ago, and have been meaning to try Garfish from day one, I wish we had tried it earlier. We dropped by on a Monday for lunch, and we were surprised to see the restaurant steadily filling up. Obviously this place is very popular with the locals, with good reason. The service was excellent, as was the food. We shared 3 entrees and the Mooloolaba prawns, all super fresh and tasty. Paired with a nice French rose, we sat street side and watched the world passing by, a great way to spend an afternoon in Crows Nest.

I have dined here on numerous occasions and previously have had a good experience unfortunately my Australia Day lunch was not. The service was hopeless, Food was ordinary i ordered mussles for entree half the shells not open how do you expect me to open them?? For main Sirloin with prawns added surf n turf. $18 for 2 small prawns??
Really how can you justify this?? Total $ 57 for a steak,salad,chips and 2 prawns!!!! I also had desert dark chocolate gianduja nothing special. As you can read with my other reviews this experience was bad. I will not be returning here after being charged $18 for 2 small prawns seriously??

I've been a few times to Garfish Crows Nest and the food is good. However it's usually too noisy to converse and crowded, so the dining experience is compromised.
Now in the post-COVID world I visited again, with some tables removed. At this moment in time, it's a premium experience. It ought to be since it's premium prices.
Please don't make the mistake of putting the tables back in again and packing people in like sardines. You may have sardines on a menu, but customers aren't sardines.
Everyone lost money in COVID, so trying to claw it all back by packing people in will mean a bigger loss in the long term. Sell off those old extra tables and chairs, and protect the dining experience. You've discovered the formula - don't blow it.

Had to wait nearly an hour for food to be served, and only bought water in that time. When bought the matter to their attention, they still took nearly ten minutes to bring the food. The waitress banged my partners knife down on the table with loud bang and then I was almost hit in the head with a plate as she walked past. No compensation was offered other than a polite apology. Do not wish to repeat the experience.

Hi , My wife and myself arrived from Adelaide to stay with our son and partner who have just moved to Crows Nest. Our sons partner was celebrating her birthday so we chose somewhere special. The food was excellent, we all had different dishes . Coming from South Australia i chose the Spencer Gulf prawns hoping they would be as good as we have eaten here. They were excellent as all the dishes were. Not the cheapest place but the service and food made our night very special. We will be returning diners when we again visit our family in Crows Nest Thank you Alan

Nice mid size seafood restaurant in Crows Nest.
The place was pretty full when we arrived and thankfully we had booked earlier in the week,
Service was prompt and efficient without being intrusive.
Entree's were nice and the mains tasty, but being Crows nest prices were to match.
My picks:
The sourdough bread is really nice.
The whole sole and snapper are very good
The steamed beans are terrific
and definitely try the Wykari Shiraz.
Misses:
The Espresso martini was so-so, I've had better.
All up a good night out.

Went here 3/11 with some friends to put lockdown behind us. Atmosphere was nice, food read as good but from the minute we turned up (about 3/5 minutes early, our table wasn’t ready yet so clearly not late and I’d like to think not obnoxiously early either) our waitress was the rudest individual I’ve ever encountered. She kept making snarkey comments about one of our guests, and didn’t hesitate to reach across someone to grab a fork/glass/plate she viewed as being unused. Conversation died whenever she approached as we all watched in disbelief at her actions.
Ruined the whole night as all we can remember is this woman.
Food was average at best (barring the desserts which we all admit were damn good).
Will happily never go back.

We have returned to this restaurant many times over the years; it never disappoints. The fish on offer is varied and beautifully cooked. My favourite this time was the prawn tacos, a generous appetiser with the best selection of flavours to delight the palette. It was also Morton Bay Bug season, not to be missed, never seen in Europe to the best of my knowledge, a real treat.

I finally got to this restaurant after hearing about it a lot!
I enjoyed the seafood stuffed zuchinni flowers and Sri Lankan curry with flavoured . I was happy to see the G_F options and absolutely loved the sticky date with ice cream - rich & moreish....love! Pleasant service with nearby carpark - another good eatery in Crows Nest.

I think I was lucky to get in as a walk up on a Saturday night. It is a busy place, so plan on booking. Service was very helpful and friendly. I had the grilled octopus with green olives to start. This worked well with a nice BBQ flavour complemented by the olives. The main was one of the market fish. It was excellent with a really nice mash. The dessert of sticky date pudding was also very good as a more winter choice. Overall I was very happy and would strongly recommend this place if you like fish. There are other options but if you like fish this place is well worth a detour.

Garfish at Crows Nest is one of our favourites and has been for many years. Food and service is great.
However I find the price of wine has become excessive. We had a bottle of Chardonnay which cost $95. On checking bottle shop prices for the same wine and vintage, I find the average price to be $22. A mark up of 330% is really excessive.

What a fabulous weekend long lunch. Beautiful fresh seafood! The trio of Oysters was fantastic, especially the Bloody Mary shots, the zucchini flowers so good! The red emperor was delicious as was the bugs! Could not fault a thing. The Team polished & professional

As always, fresh seafood with creative flavours and really nice wines to match. Good vibe with wait staff who just know what they're doing. While in Sydney recently, headed back to Garfish and not disappointed. Comfortable, nice ambience and above all lovely food. Please don't change Garfish :O)
