We have visited Manly a number of times, but have always stayed in the main area of the beach. During this visit we strolled along the full length of the beach, along to North Manly during a beautiful afternoon. When we returned to the main tourist area, we stumbled upon this great place. Perfect time for an afternoon coffee and... More

We had a great meal - complete with excellent drinks at Hemingway's. A super relaxed cafe they could have been a bit more 'on' with service but a small complaint on what was an excellent meal that easily could have turned into a whole day enjoying the drinks and people watching!

Another lovely evening at Hemingways. Friendly and attentive staff and the atmosphere always delights. The barramundi special was beautifully cooked, delicious moist and with lightly spiced tomato and other vegetables. THe taste flambé went down well with our 20year old and we stayed for another wine to investigate some of the books. We'll be back again.

On the waterfront at Manly. Pleasant spot on the chairs on the sidewalk at the front of the building. The food was average, the atmosphere you created for yourself.

I had the quinoa and kale salad with chicken. It was so fresh and all the ingredients melded together perfectly. My friend ordered the salmon pizza. The Salmon was fantastic with the other ingredients atop the crust. I was embarrassed because I wanted to eat both pizza and salad all to myself!

Food always great here, breakfast in particular BUT is let down by service. On one occasion this week one of the wait staff decided to question our choice of order (Saucsison) as it seemed wrong for her at breakfast (despite being on menu) and she made other judgy comments about someone elses coffee order. Then the second visit this week... More

Thank you for taking the time to review us and point out some of the worst part of your experience with constructiveness. Its always appreciated as then I can speak to the appropriate staff and make the improvements. With regards to the Saucsison, I will look into the case that the dish was different both times, but as for the... More

This was a hard one to rate as the food was really very good. Breakfast Cassoulet was delightful and I also had the Truffle & Parmesan Fries which are HUGE and amazing. What really brought the experience down was the staff who were quite standoffish and disorganized. There was quite a wait time - normal for a very busy restaurant... More

Nice place by the beach to chill and have a good drink. Friendly advice and good quality drinks. Ideal for a beach break or a Manly bar hop.

Each time we go here we just love it. Great food wine and service. Especially great when you can sit outside and watch the world go by sipping on a cold drink

Staying in Manly

Neighbourhood Profile
Manly
A 40-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay will take you to the famous northern beach of Manly. The beaches here are perfect for learning to surf or spending the day sun-tanning. The walk from Spit Bridge to Manly is a great way to experience Sydney Harbour Bay and the Australian bush land. Along the foreshore, there are plenty of watering holes and wine bars with excellent cuisine. There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants as well, especially along the family-oriented areas like Shelly Beach. An excellent way to experience Manly is to rent a bike and explore the dedicated bike paths and off road trails. The North Head National Park is another must-see. Located on the southern tip of Manly, North Head National Park offers great bushwalks and panoramic views of the city.
