Stopped for brunch and were pleasantly surprised. I ordered the hot cakes and they were the best ever. Highly recommended. You gotta shoot here for a bite

We had a half hour free before meeting friends, and decided to try Essenza. There are several small cafes on the main street, and this is one we had not previously tried. The service was cheerful and friendly, and the coffee not bad. When we came to pay, the cost of two large flat whites was $13.50. Daylight robbery with... More

It's not often that my partner and I head to the Yarra Valley, but when we do, we always make sure we head to Essenza for a meal. We cannot fault what they do here. Their food and drinks are amazing and fresh, the vibe is perfect and the staff are lovely. I highly recommend this place and wish there... More

Small cafe with modern decor, some outdoor pavement seating, excellent service and an interesting Italian themed menu. For lunch various people in our party enjoyed different styled bread based meals. My fagioli was simple and delicious. Chais, coffees, green teas were good quality.

Having walked out of the Innocent Bystander, we were delighted to find Essenza. Though easy to miss due to its small frontage, this is a well-presented, friendly operation. Good coffee, superb pastries and beautifully presented coconut muffins baked in flowerpots. Quality food, sensible portions and excellent value. Talk about chalk and cheese with their pretentious, overblown big neighbour up the... More

I had breakfast here today - Uova in padella - two free range baked eggs, pancetta, tomato pomodoro, fontina cheese & sourdough toast. The dish was served in a glazed terra cotta bowl piping hot from the oven and garnished with rocket. A hearty breakfast indeed, would also be great for lunch. The double espresso had a rich crema and... More

We enjoyed a very nice breakfast outside with our dog and sheltered from the rain. Our muffin was fresh out of the oven. Yum. Baked eggs were exceptional. Coffee great.

I had excellent baked fagioli beans here. Rich tomato sauce with feta and a drizzle of olive oil. This was served with a generous side of toast and salty butter! Hearty and totally delicious! Service was very welcoming. I'll be back on future visits to Healesville!
