I'm a regular here because they make good pies and veggie pasties. I like the cheesecake and Vienna loaves too. Wifey likes the fresh sandwiches.

The staff were rude when I didn't have my phone and loudly in front of other clients stated the paper was not registered and not to come again without phone. Secondly the cakes are dry, limited choice and not fresh. I can forgive them for...giving stale cakes but there is call for rudeness and embarrassing your public.More

I work in Macedon so the options for food are limited, albeit good. The bakery food is completely fine. The treatment by one staff member has resulted in my colleagues and I, regularly banning ourselves from the bakery. Whilst it's unfair to name names, I...believe it is the same lady people have mentioned in previous review. This staff member rolls her eyes, scoffs, huffs and puffs and says things like "Does it look like there's enough for two serves in there?". I can only imagine what type of effect this has on this business. I know of a lot of people who avoid the bakery due to the rudeness of this staff member. In this day and age, it's just not good enough. After trying to call to discuss this ongoing problem, no one has called me back, so unfortunately no other option but to leave a review. I hope the owners can provide some training on customer service to this individual, I won't be back until things change.More

My partner and I stopped in to support the local bakery. The older lady that served us was grumpy. There were no labels on the pies so I asked what flavours left. Then I asked for a danish. It was a pastry on its own...in the salad bar, I pointed to it and she lectured me that the danishes were in a different area and that what I was selecting was a strudel. She asked what flavour I wanted, again no labels. Other things in the store were rhubarb so I assumed the red one was rhubarb. She lectured me and said it was cherry. So I asked what flavours she had. I didn’t feel welcome. I was trying to support a small country town business on my way through and she just belittled me and lectured me on the different flavours and pastry types. It appears you need to be a baker to order here. There was no friendly service. Very disappointed.More

We regularly buy cakes and pies here. They’re ok - don’t knock your socks off - standard small country bakery fare. What really annoys us is one of the staff. There are two middle aged ladies that work here. One has darker hair and she’s...very friendly and helpful. The other is her complete opposite (blonde hair and glasses). She’s always so abrupt and unfriendly - to the point of coming across as quite rude. Seems she’s like this with everyone when you watch her serve customers in front of you. So pity the poor customer that gets her to serve youMore

We drove through Macedon looking for an easy late lunch and came across this lovely little bakery- between the 6 of us we tried quite a few items - pies, sausage rolls, pasties, tarts and donuts!! A lovely young man served us and was patient...waiting for us to decide!! We couldn’t leave without buying something for later- the large berry tart for dinner was delicious and great value- would definitely drop in if we are in the area again.More

Having already walked to the Mt Macedon Cross monument from Macedon we were more than ready for some refreshments. Hubby bought an onion pie that was tasty, sausage roll and coffee to go. He commented the coffee was the best he’d had for quite a...while. Meanwhile I consumed an apple cake that was standard and a hot chocolate. We didn’t need the large size cups so would order medium next time. Only a couple of seats for the bakery outside as it looks like the rest are from the business next door. Inside had quite a few tables if you wanted to sit and eat. Prompt friendly service by a very efficiency lady.More

Dropped to pickup some bread after having coffee next door and was pleasantly surprised to see that they also prepared very good sandwiches

The cafe next door was full so we ended up in the Lazy Baker and what a fortunate bit of luck! We had coffee and a selection of bread, pastries and cakes and it was all delicious. So delicious we bought the same again to...take with us and consume later in the day. Traditional style bakery with all the old favorites and let me tell you the coffee scrolls are magnificent. I was only sorry I didn't this time try a hot breakfast...which is all significantly cheaper than surrounding options. I'll absolutely be back. Friendly staff and simple decor but worth the drive.More
