My wife and I opted to order a number of smaller dishes instead of mains. By far and away our favourite dishes were the raw ones, that being the hirimasa kingfish sashimi served on a salt block with fennel apple ruby grapefruit salad, and the blow torched king salmon sambal chilli nigiri. We also had the green tea salt crispy... More

Our local haunt for casual lunches, birthdays and visitors. We love looking at the water and the activities in the foreground, we love seeing Melbourne off in the distance. Great service, great quality food

Had a lovely meal at The Rocks with family for my birthday, service was nice & friendly the food was superb! Would be a perfect venue on weekends for brunch or lunch on the verandah looking up the bay towards the City of Melbourne! Worthy of a visit or two or three!

Cold wintry day but nice and warm at The Rocks. Welcomed by a lovely lady who had great balance of humour, knowledge and experience. Started with the tasty tofu dumplings , soft shell crab and gyoza which was well received by us all. The lamb shoulder was plentiful and a winner as was the crisp fresh fish, sides, salads and... my husband and I enjoyed dinner here recently. Whilst our waiter was brand new he made sure he informed us of anything he had forgotten to mention. We really enjoyed the mussels, soft shell crab, oysters and local wines. We went at night so cannot comment on the views but the food was tasty and the menu had a massive... More

The Rocks was recommended to us as somewhere where we would enjoy celebrating a special occasion. I booked weeks ago and asked for the best table they had available. It seemed we were just seated where there was a table for 2 at the time. The chefs are let down by very average service, so disappointing!! Waiting far too long... More

Feeling a bit fancy, but still doable for a family visit. Brilliant service, deliciously fresh seafood and plenty on the plate! I cannot flaw my meal, it was absolutely jawdropping!

My wife and I had lunch here overlooking the harbor of Mornington on the peninsula SE of Melbourne. Great oysters and local catch of the day. Good selection of local wines. Service was friendly and efficient. Tough finding a parking spot on a beautiful Sunday, but the walk from the park down to the restaurant was pleasant. Would recommend it.

This place has a great location and used to be terrific. This time, service was patchy and my fish tasted like it had been frozen and had that stale taste and texture. There were 3 pieces of fish but I tried each one and they were all the same. Maybe they were trying to get rid of last week's special?... More

We went here four times in a week so that probably tells you everything you need to know! Twice it was just for a cold beer and some nibbles after a swim, once for lunch as a couple, and once for lunch with friends. Nothing to fault in four visits and certainly not the food - which is delicious! Their... More
