Cajun food is not something I usually associate with the Nashville area, but this little restaurant is the real deal. I had the jamabalaya and my husband had the shrimp etouffee and they were both fantastic. We also had a cup of gumbo each and loved it. If I were going to complain, and I'm not, it would be that... In the adorable cross section of whites creek is this fun Cajun place. Really great musicians in talented and music rich Nashville -a great benefit! We tried lots of Cajun favorites including gator tail and beignets. A great lively crowd after 7 listening to live music and having fun! Enjoy!

The food was excellent. I had a muffaletta (1/2) and had to take half of it home. HUGE and great price. In retrospect, two of us should have split the half! The red beans and rice are EXCELLENT. They serve Abita Beer, truly a Louisiana treat. Ask about portion sizes before you order if you are in doubt. The only... More

This is funky place on the outskits of North Nashville. We got there at 6 in the evening and the music was going. Combos swapped in and out, all playing different types of music ... even Cajun. The food was OK. Lots of fried stuff. I had the catfish which was served with a very good creamy sauce. And, the... More

We went there today Saturday about 3:30ish so an odd time only two other couples there and the band setting up so sadly no live music, but we liked it. An older building with its own personality nice to look around and more enjoyable then the chains by a mile our waiter was a good guy and took good care... More

Stopped in for quick lunch. Nice folks here. Po boy was good and onion ring good. Other dishes looked good. It was Saturday and they had a duet performing. Beer was cold. We'll be back.

We have eaten at Richard's several times and always enjoyed our experience. While there are non-Cajun options on the menu, I always go for Louisiana cuisine. I like spicy, but sometimes Richard's can even 'out-spice' me. A little more icy water fixes me up. Arrive early in the evening, if you want to enjoy the music--but still be able to... More

Wanting to escape the craziness of downtown Nashville and looking for something with a more local flair, we called Richard's and begged for a table on a Saturday (on very short notice). If you're looking for fancy, go elsewhere. If you're looking for an authentic cajun experience with very good food and good music, this is your place. But beware,... More
