We took our adult son there for a birthday dinner, and we had reservations. The waitress must be new because I know of no other explanation. She didn't ask what we'd like to drink; she just wanted our menu order. We wanted to order from...More

I just hate reviews like this because it means I haven't done my job well. Yes she is a new server who needs a great deal of polishing. I have been behind in updating our wine list because of our staff turn over. So, these...More

Had a lovely dinner at The Turtle on our way to Austin. Extensive wine/beverage list, lovely fresh menu and great gelato. Not too many vegetarian choices though. Definitely will return again next time we pass through!

We were first to arrive for dinner service, eventually only one other table was occupied on a Thursday evening. We ordered wine but the bottle was not available so we settled for one glass each which, at $13 per glass was barely drinkable. The chef...More

I am sorry you were disappointed in your selections. I am showing this review to our staff and we will address your criticisms which I value. When you say over loaded, what do you mean? That there was too much on the plate, too much...More

After looking for something different in Brownwood, The Turtle was perfect. The menu was diverse and the staff was pleasant. We enjoyed the hummus plate to start along with the mushroom soup. For dinner we had the Apricot stuffed pork loin, the rabbit and the...More

Thank you so much for you comments. The stuffed pork is one of my personal favorites. It will be hard to let go of it when we switch to our spring menu. We look forward to your return.
