some of the best barbeque we have recently eaten. The beef was great and the price most reasonable. A fine selection of pies and fresh local beef to cook at home!

Stopped in on the way down from Austin to Houston and really enjoyed the whole experience. The staff was friendly and the food was great. We specifically enjoyed spicy mac n' cheese w/a sliced BBQ beef sandwich. It's definitely worth a stop and much better than going to a fast food restaurant.

This is a Great Place to stop along highway 290. The family has been in the restaurant and meat market for over 50 years. Quality Meats Make Good Barbecue and that is What They Use. Wonderful Bakery with Kolaches, Bread, Pies etc.

This is a meat market so the menu items are fresh. They have the largest 'burgers I have seen -- enough for two --with, of course, French fries. Their chicken-fried steak sandwich is also very good. Lots of kitschy, Texas ceramic souvenirs (or for your own Texas-style décor) -- a fun place and very friendly.

What a delightful place! Friendly, great food, and not just kolaches. But burgers, steaks, good full hearty meals! Delicious homemade pies!!

The food is great. A relaxed atmosphere and lost of delicious baked goods: pies, cinnamon rolls, cookies, bread, etc... Also food gift items: preserves, salad dressings, sauces, etc....

Since we live in the Chappell Hill area, we've eaten here quite a. Few times. Breakfast is always good and generously served. But I was very pleased with lunch recently because of the yummy home-style veggies and potato salad. The coleslaw is great too.

After a bad experience with the cafe next door we walked across the parking lot to the Bakery to find a great atmosphere and a much nicer and cleaner place. Unfortunately we just miss their breakfast but got some of the best sticky buns and kolaches with some coffee. Fresh baked pasterys are just a part of what this place... More

Stopped by on our way to Brenham for lunch. I had a chicken fried steak and my wife had some fried catfish. Both portions were big and very tasty. The bacon jalapeño mac and cheese was heavenly. We also grabbed a few sausages from the deli. Can't wait to get home and try them!

We stopped here on out way back to Houston for a late or early lunch. Meat was soft and smokey; fries were golden crisp and the broccoli salad was actually very good. Their store sells baked goods, meat, sausages and preserves. We'll definitely come back!!!!
