Came here for breakfast, the French toast is really good. The hash browns were good and the sausage, too. Crispy, buttery toast. Would definitely eat here again.

We ordered the "old-fashion" burgers & they were very juicy & good. The fries were great as well as the wait staff. They sell some ice cream products similar to DQ so if you are hankering for something close go to this place - we were too full on the burgers to partake ice cream :0
Most of their hot food is cooked to order, so if you insist on using the drive-thru, get your order number and pull around to the south lot and wait for them to call-it might be 10-15 minutes. This is not a Dairy Queen and hasn't been for years. It's Hawkin's Family Restaurant now and has been for years. The same gentleman owns it that has for ever. The food is good, especially the chicken strip basket. Getting waited on at the counter can be a little slow sometimes but usually not.
While this used to be a Dairy Queen until several years ago, it's now Hawkins Family Restaurant. I can't vouch for anything but the ice cream, and it's the best in the area. We love the Avalanche, which is the Hawkins version of a Blizzard type dessert. If you're in the Daingerfield/Hughes Springs/Lone Star area, it's worth driving over.
My husband and I wanted a chocolate dipped icecream cone, but had to drive to Gilmore to the nearest Dariy Queen from Daingerfield State Park. The cones weren't dipped to the bottom of the icecream as I remembered from my childhood, and they were messy. Needless to say, the experience didn't live up to our memories of going to Dariy... More
