We've eaten here many times, but they recently lost their chef, and most of the staff, it seems. The rice is tasteless now. The seaweed salad made with large tough leaves. The grilled artichoke (my favorite), tough (undercooked?). The yellowtail sashimi was excellent, but the crab roll and cucumber roll bland. Service was poor. In our other many visits, service... Good sushi and robata, but very overpriced. Even the wasabi was $7 for less than an ounce. Sashimi pieces small. Toro was $36 for 5 small pieces. Everything tasted well and service was good, but I felt ripped off in the end.

Took my fiance to Tei Tei for his birthday and was a bit disappointed for a couple reasons. The food was good but did not reflect the price. We had the shrimp with cornflakes that everyone mentioned in their reviews and was most disappointed with that dish. The cornflakes were so hard and crunchy that it was almost inedible as... More

This is our favorite "go to" restaurant in Dallas. The quality of the fresh fish varieties is great. We were a party of four and had the red miso soup to start, the Sashimi Special for four (Spanish Mackrel-favorite, tuna, red snapper, octopus and yellow tail). For dinner we had; yellow tail carpaccio, whole Branzino, sea bass and enoki mushrooms,... More

Wow - have never had robata in such an amazing combo as tomato and proscioutto. Yum! And the service was friendly and prompt. Highly recommend!

Part of my order was toro... the sashimi chef does not have good skill. Other than expensive, the toro meat is not the best quality cut! It is definitely trendy place but if Dallas people think it represent best of Japanese food in the town I feel sorry for them. It has this over success air ... Rude and loud... More

found this restaurant by mistake ... what a great mistake. Amazing dishes. Had the classic sushi options and SO much more. Tried the branzino fish and different side dishes - WOW!

My review compares Tei Tei with restaurants on the Ginza in Tokyo. I have eaten at Tei Tei many times and always with Japanese citizens who exclaim that it is just like eating in Japan. Tei Tei is a restaurant serving food prepared in the robatayaki style. That literally means "fire side" cooking and, indeed, Tei Tei uses a charcoal... More

There used to be a hole in the wall (family run) Japanese restaurant near TI, but it closed down. They had the best Japanese authentic food, I ever had in Dallas or in the US. Tei Tei Robata is almost as good as the closed one :) except you will probably have to pay a bit more. You should know... More

One of the sushi bars that i do really enjoed authentic sushi...not the fusion... Really fresh, employees are nice. Recomend an open choice of the chef for sashimi (ok it going to be expensive but totally worth it)
