Was able to get a table up back for small party of 6. Friends catching up over holidays. Service was good - chips and salsa a little slower than normal. Our server Ricardo was very good. Food was solid. Carne Asada was cooked nicely. Drinks were good. Nice atmosphere. Good meal. Overall, good experience.

We always visit Glorias when in this area. Six of us ranging in age from 13 to 73 all enjoyed our visit. Food was delicious, service friendly and price reasonable. I highly recommend Glorias for all ages.

Wonderful Central American food as well as Tex-Mex. Great staff. Also good for take-out. We have never had a bad dish here. Also great fresh chips with salsa and bean dip.

Ordered Carne Asada - meat was delicious as were sides of plantains, rice and beans. They serve tortilla chips with a mild salsa and a bean dip. (Bean dip is better than the salsa). A LOT of things to choose from on the menu; they also have traditional tex-mex foods which I will try next time. Service was outstanding. Decor... More

Loved the Salvadoran food (pupusas and tamales)! The Carne Asada was a hit as well. Very comfortable upscale atmosphere, very nice, attentive waiters, and reasonable prices. Couldn't ask for a better experience.

This is NOT your typical Mexican restaurant, in fact its not Mexican at all. It is Latin food and serves some Mexican classics. The food is Great and offers a variety of Latin fare. The atmosphere is fun and the service is Great. The servers are always of the spot and asking if there is anything they can get you... More

Excellent food and another sterling example of a restaurant that pairs its food with equally good service. I have not had anything bad from this restaurant and I typically stick with my favorites, although for Gloria's, I've found myself willing to try new things and expand my food-horizons. My favorites are the chimichanga, the tacos al Carbon, fish tacos, carne... More

I am not sure I am sophisticated enough to know Latin Cuisine from good, old American Tex-Mex but Gloria's serves some excellent chimichangas! The portions are large and served with fried rice and beans. Entres come with delicious guacamole along with chips and salsa. The chips are thick and crispy. The salsa is thick and just the right amount of... More

First, everyone at the restaurant is welcoming and friendly. Service is polite and timely. The food is different - not your typical Tex-Mex. Be prepared to try a twist on the familiar. The restaurant is comfortable with different areas - outside, covered patio, active dining room, and quiet dining room. You will enjoy your dining experience.

Description
Humble Beginnings Gloria and Jose Fuentes were seventeen years old when they arrived to the United States in 1978. Like many other young Salvadorians, they were filled with hope - longing for a better life than what they were experiencing in a cruel and intense civil war, and civil chaos which lasted many years (decades) in El Salvador. Without knowing each other, Gloria and Jose settled in Houston, Texas and faced the precarious existence and survival difficulties of undocumented immigrants for some time. Now we're cookin' Fatefully, love created a miracle when they met and moved to Dallas to work with Gloria's sister at a Salvadorian restaurant, which her sister owned in Oak Cliff. A year later passed, and Gloria's sister gave up on the restaurant and Gloria and Jose chose to take over. Despite all the obstacles, and showing amazing resilience and a persistent work ethic, their life was beginning to change for the best. Playing an entrepreneurial role - with no previous knowledge - they registered the assumed Gloria's name before the Dallas County Clerk on April 15, 1986. A few months later they became legal U.S. Residents under the amnesty provisions of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. Under Jose and Gloria's management, the little Salvadorian restaurant became distinguished for their tasty food. It was so full of flavor that an undercover critic of the Dallas Morning News gave them a very positive review. The next day there was a considerable line of Anglo clients waiting under the summer sun of Dallas, for an opportunity to indulge in the new and delicious dishes. Even William "Bill" Clements, Jr., The Governor of Texas at the time, was one of those curious customers. Gloria's growth has been a constant ever since then. Now boasting 15 Texas locations, the restaurant still serves the same delicious Latin cuisine that has been satifying hungry Texans for over 25 years.
