Everything our group ordered was very good. Service staff was refreshing after a HOT day---very friendly and helpful about things to do in the area that most tourists wouldn't figure out! Make sure to try the Spaetzel (sp?)--homemade buttered noodles just like great-gramma used to...More

Centrally located in the beautiful town of Fredericksburg stands this nice German theme restaurant! With Live Music, great food and some good ole' German Beer, it will take you into a trip back to Bavaria! The atmosphere reminds me of Germany, the service was really...More

Aside from good service, completely disappointing. We are local and used to love this place. What happened? $16 jager schnitzel was pre-fab versus "authentic German" as advertised. Mashed potatoes were a gloopy paste that tasted like they'd been sitting out all day. Peach bellini was...More

Asked several folks at the local museums and they pointed us to Auslander for authentic German food. Ambience was German and our waitress was appropriately dressed, but the food was just average. Service was very fast.

As many German reviewers have stated, this is not your typical German food in Germany. Whether or not you will like it depends on your personal tastes. We lived in Fredericksburg for 10 years, and only went a couple of times. With 20 or more...More

Located right in the middle of the action, this is a great place to stop in, even if for a beverage and to people-watch. German menu, helpful waitstaff. One of the waitresses helped me with a local wine selection. The patio seating is long and...More

Lived in German six years. This food bore no resemblance to good German food. Yes, they serve something they call a schnitzel, but a schnitzel is finely pounded veal, pork or chicken filet, lightly breaded and pan fried. It shouldn't look or taste like an...More

We are return guests. Lots of ambiance. Best tables are in the front by the big open window. Great for people watching. Good assortment of beers. I always get a verity of sausages. Food is very good. Staff are friendly with good service.

Had a good schnitzel dinner at Auslander's on Haupstrasse (Main St.) in Fredericksburg while visiting for the 40th Anniversary weekend of the first sanctioned Volksmarch in America. Great atmosphere and "fell" inside of a Bavarian Brauhaus with a biergarten and all. Service was good and...More
