This is an old historical diner. It's not haute cuisine - it's comfort food - very comfortable food if you know what I mean! We love to have breakfast here as it is diner style and has a very retro feel. Right in the heart of the strand district.

Wanted some pancakes and decided to try this place out. Located in the Strand area you step back in time to the 40's when you come here. Great diner complete with it's own history on the menu and the original U-shaped counter in the center of the place. Pancakes were great and service staff very attentive to your order and... More

We had a quick lunch at the Star Drug Store and thoroughly enjoyed the meal and service. The restaurant itself is an interesting venue and well worth a visit if you are in Galveston.

Had lunch here on our trip to Galveston. Both the wife and I had burgers that were good she ordered a cup of chicken tortilla soup as well and it was very good, different than any that I have had before as it had a chicken stock base. The atmosphere is what made the place, the waitress was friendly and... More

Our cruise was delayed due to fog closing Galveston Port. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and loved this little gem. That's to fog we found it and loved it. Great staff. Delicious food. Recommended.

At the end of December, my wife Estraletta and I traveled to Houston, Texas for a gathering for New Years. My wife’s siblings in Texas hosted this event. We stayed at By the Sea Condominium. The beach was across the street. On Sunday morning, we woke for breakfast. I searched Trip Advisor for the top breakfast spots in Galveston. We... More

During my last visit to Galveston I had promised myself I would visit the Star Drug Store and have breakfast since it was packed during the Dickens on the Strand event in 2015. I was very excited to try it out since its look was so eclectic. Needless to say it's just another tourist ripoff. The pancake I ordered tasted... More

Good breakfast, great setting. Eggs benedict were good. Would definitely spend a lot of time there if I was a local.
