We were so pleased with this restaurant. Very nice people. Great seafood. They mistakenly brought us one red beans and rice instead of gumbo, but thank goodness they did! BEST red beans and rice in Texas!! From a cajun from Lafayette, that is high praise! The gumbo was great as well. This restaurant will be calling us back the 60... More

Went for dinner as my husband had read good review. Food was very good. I had the fried shrimp and husband had fried oysters. My only complaint is it was very loud. Not a place to sit and have conversation.

We "over heard" a conversation at the Strand Shops about the best sea food in Galveston, and since we were looking for a place to eat, we decided to drop in. The recommendation was right on! We found the place solid, all tables full, bar stools full, Waiters quick on their feet, busy, busy. Our wait was about ten minutes.... More

Our next stop was for oysters on the half shell. Very good !! Perfect size oysters and scrumptious red sauce. Supposedly a locals hangout and I can see why. Nothing fancy but good food and friendly service.

We tried the Black Pearl Oyster Bar last weekend for lunch, and really enjoyed the Oyster Po-Boys. The oysters were big, crispy and fresh. But the oil the used tasted old, and our waiter looked exhausted and uninterested in waiting on us. He came and slammed my glass of wine down on the table, and walked off without saying a... More

Every dish I have ever ordered here is top quality. The fresh oysters are better than any other restaurant in town. The menu is extensive and moderately priced. They off a wide selection of drinks that are also reasonably priced. You can't go wrong if you are looking for good seafood.

We had eaten before the theater, but had the munchies. Having heard of the bread pudding, I decided we would find the Black Pearl and try it out. Everything is awesome! We will be back to try the menu, visit by visit. The aroma, the staff, the service, the atmosphere -- reminds me of the small cafes in '60s New... More

A young lady working in the swim shop at The Hilton suggested we try this restaurant in The Strand area. It was delicious !!! The fried oysters were superb, Tilapia excellent and dessert of bread pudding delicious!! Our waitress was great! It's not a big place and is pretty noisy, but I recommend you give it a try! We would... More
