I had a nice lunch of Guiso de Res, full of flavor and filling. The handmade tortillas were a nice touch. Lunch including tip was $10.50.

I am unsure why this place doesn't have better reviews. Authentic Mexican food at good prices. The BEST re-fried beans that I've ever had. Margaritas were a little weak. Salsa was great. My enchiladas were great and my husband said his tacos were fantastic. Our waitress had some slight trouble with English so communication was a little hard. We did... More

My family gathers here often just to meet up for lunch, or with a big group on the nights they have mariachis. We're usually always attended to politely and friendly. I have a favorite plate (higado encebollado [liver]) and although it's always too spicy, I love it every time! Their tortillas are made in house and they bring some out... More

I became a fan of Cuquitas in 1999 when I first moved to Dallas. They were located on Henderson with what I considered the next best thing to mama's cooking. Unfortunately after losing their lease they moved to a really bad location on Lake June Rd and the quality of the Cuquitas brand began to suffer. That location closed down.... More

Cuquita'sused to be the best place in town. But as it open more restaurants, the food as well as the service went down hill. As a loyal customer I kept going, finding excuses as to why the food didn't taste the same. Today, was the last straw. I ate my milanesa cold. Not only was my food cold, but my... More

I enjoyed lunch at the Garland location. The restaurant was very clean, the staff was friendly, the service was great and the food was really tasty! It seems more authentic Mexican to me than Tex-Mex......which I found refreshing. I would definitely recommend and will be back!

Cuquita's is always great! We love the the fresh corn tortillas and real Mexican food. I usually get breakfast for dinner. We have been coming to Cuquita's for over 15 years.

Service is pitifully slow! The watery salsa is the worst. Don't bother ordering a margarita! We finally walked out because we still hadn't received our food 45 min later.

The restaurant is very popular. We were there on Mother's Day and the wait was nearly and hour at 2 in the afternoon. They brought warm corn tortillas that combined the texture of flour with the taste of corn. Next time I think I will just order those. The margaritas were tasty and powerful and the re fried beans were... More

I love mexican food, but NOT this mexican food. Bland tasting and unappealing meal housed in an ugly building. My 2 guests had the same opinion about their dinners. The chips were crisp and just salty enough, but the accompanying sauce(?) was NO salsa. Don't waste your calories on inferior mexican food.

Description
We'd never heard of Cuquita's but found it while looking for a place to lunch. Research revealed this is one of three locations in the Dallas area. The chain is highly rated by Texas Monthly magazine. We found the food and service excellent.
