We were driving between San Antonio and Dallas on Thanksgiving Day. Most restaurants were closed so we kept driving, hoping to find anything to eat. We saw many cars at the Koffee Kup so we stopped, were seated quickly, and placed our order. My husband and I both chose cheeseburgers, my son ordered a corn dog and my daughter wanted... More

Having been written up in various news articles, this place is rightly famous. Pies, hamburgers, onion rings are just a few of the items highlighted by various articles! This place is down home and popular with the folks who live here, plus tourists driving through Be prepared to wait awhile for the food though due to how busy they are... More

The club sandwich is delicious with ham and bacon. The chicken fried steak plate is huge with two sides. You can get breakfast all day except 11 to 2 during the lunch service. The serving of onion rings has a heavy crust and a really big serving. There are several choices of pie. I chose lemon meringue and found the... More

Beware when you order onion rings the plate is the size of the table and the rings are as large as your head! The chicken fried steak sandwich is enough for two actually most everything can be split because you will want to leave room for a PIE. I usually bring a whole pie home if possible. My fav is... First, no one greeted us, just a hand pointed to a table. It took so long for our waitress to approach us that we went ahead and ordered our breakfast. I noticed that other tables were searching for the waitress, menus in hand ready to order. Toast with a melted square of butter in the center (not spread), flat scrambled... More

The KK is a Hico staple. Good home style cooking with great pie. It is a small town diner worth the stop. Feel like a Hico local, eat some pie and watch the folks stop in on the way to and from Dallas. Food is always good, pie always great - people always pleasant. Fried chicken, Chicken fried steak, burgers... More

A friend and I stopped in Hico for lunch at the Koffee Kup, where I've eaten many times during the past 30 years. The food was still very good-the coconut pie there wonderfully fresh and worth the calories. But the service was poor, with a very abrupt waitress with no smile and no welcoming words. We noticed other waitresses also... More

This restaurant is no longer the quaint family lunch plate one is used to be. It now is primarily a Mexican restaurant with those culinary selections. The place is not courteous or hospitable as it used to be. Too, it is loud. All of our meal was served at one time, from the salad to the entree to the dessert.... More

After years of stopping at the Koffee Kup on our way South we had many great memories of great food and good service. We couldn't find either on our recent trip. My wife had breakfast and I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak. We were consistently ignored by our waitress. I was never served my salad and 40 minutes later our... More

We popped in here one midday afternoon for 2 iced teas and a slice of peacan pie. We really enjoyed our visit and found it clean, the bathroom clean and staff pleasant. The pie was really good and one slice was enough for 2 people for a mid afternoon snack after a walk around pretty Hico. The meals people ate... More
