This is one of our Houston favorites. Having been to Italy a few times and having eaten at some amazing restaurants there, I should say that Giacomo's is a great Italian food experience. If you're looking for some great and authentic Italian food for a special occasion, this is your place to go.

Cute place in River Oaks area. Great prices .Extensive wine menu- would have preferred better food with concentration on the main plates and less extensive menu. Appreciated the waitress alerting us the salads were huge so we ordered one for 2 people. More than ample. It was almost all iceberg but OK. Extensive menu.Glad the waitress said we could split... I went to Giacomo's with my italian friends for dinner and we really liked the food. We can say that Giacomo's is a real italian restaurant in Houston. They have a very good plates, wines and prices. Also, all the waiters are very kind (especially Jesus). They have a patio and they are dog friendly- they bring water and treats... More

Giacomo’s came to my interest years ago when it was reviewed in the Houston Chronicle and listed by Allison Cook in her yearly top 100-restaurant review. It has been on the list for at least five years (that I can remember) and we have never regretted going there. While it hasn’t received the top marks for an Italian restaurant in... More

The girlfriend and I stumbled upon this wonderful find on a fluke. We were staying nearby and hungry, so we shopped around and Giacomo's was rated well, so we stopped in. The wait was 45 mins at 730 on a Saturday night, but it was totally worth it. We started with the crostini appetizer, which they serve with your choice... More

I am an ex Houstonian and whenever I am back in town I always make sure to eat at least once (often several times) there. Modern and relaxed atmosphere, delicious authentic Italian food and reasonable prices. The owner is ALWAYS there making sure that all is perfect. Can be noisy.

Not a spaghetti and meatball place. We had Tortellini Sugo Rosa, trout alla garfagna, pork butt and white beans, lemon tart, and appetizers of Halloumi cheese, lamb meat balls, and three excellent dips. Very helpful attentive service people in a clean modern unpretentious place.

Knew the owner Lynette from her previous restaurants in Houston...always authentic Italian food. Giacomos is in the new completely authentic Italian style combining small side plates...salads...main dishes...specials and one of a kind Tuscan delights never seen before in Houston menus. Great atmosphere...very popular but wait not long even at peak timed. If you like authentic Italian food...combined with extensive wine... More

The patio has a great vibe, and it is super dog friendly! They brought a bowl of water and a big plate of treats. Service was great, the food was timed to come out perfectly and the waiter was very attentive. Great value, my friend and I split two hot dishes and a main dish, each had a half glass... More

Since this was our first visit here, we asked the waiter for suggestions. I think our waiter's name was Ernesto. He was thrilled to offer suggestions and spent a lot of time explaining them. We started off with the scallop appetizer. It was great. For our entrees, we got and shared the linguine giacomo and the pollo guido. While chicken... More
