The atmosphere and service was great. The food was good but we felt the prices were somewhat expensive. Convenient to downtown Houston. Good place to go for special occasions but not on a regular basis.

A classic Italian restaurant with great seafood and steaks too. Met the owner. Service and food are remarkably good.

I ordered cioppino and was really disappointed. The broth was watery with too many onions and peppers. The fish was not plentiful. My wife ordered bacon wrapped shrimp that was quite good. Our waiter seemed to be uncaring and inattentive however the owners did take...More

Sunday brunch is outstanding! Lots of varied and interesting choices - not just the usual egg dishes. The grilled oysters in garlic butter with Parmesan are excellent especially paired with their specially prepared garlic bread. And the cocktails are also special: bloody Mary's, mimosas and...More

Tony Mandolas is a nicer restaurant and the prices do reflect that. They do participate in restaurant month for Houston so if you are looking for a good deal that might be the best time to try their food. They are open for lunch as...More

Some friends suggested Mandola’s and it was really good. We started off with the shrimp cocktail which was tasty. I ordered the stuffed shrimp and it was amazing! My husband had a steak and it was great as well.

This is a very nice and quiet restaurant. The food is great, very fresh and high quality, but service can be improved.

Description
In 1982, we opened Tony Mandolaʼs Blue Oyster Bar on the Gulf Freeway, which we owned and operated for 22 years. A second Tony Mandolaʼs Blue Oyster Bar debuted on Shepherd in 1984, which he closed four years later in order to open our famous West Gray Tony Mandolaʼs flagship location. Our lifelong dream of owning a freestanding restaurant has now become a reality with the opening of our new, permanent Tony Mandola's location at 1212 Waugh Drive. We take great pride in serving what we think is some of the best food on the Gulf Coast. Everything is homemade fresh in our kitchen daily and many of our dishes are our Mamas' recipes. God Bless our Mamas and God Bless you for your patronage.“Dedicated to the preservation of the art of Mamas' Cooking.” Sincerely,Tony & Phyllis Mandola
