Great venue for Sunday Brunch. Some of the best shrimp and grits I’ve had. The poached eggs and chicken and biscuit and perfect. Service is great. Very busy, make reservations early. My wife loves this place and the food.

I was disappointed in the food after reading the high marks and great reviews. Ordered brisket wraps and found them bland while the meat was almost beef jerky consistency. I thought it would be shredded and juicy, not dry and hard. Tortilla soup was weak;...More
We visited this restaurant with friends, and had a spectacular meal. The setting is nice but casual, service excellent, and the food very, very good. The atmosphere is calm enough to enjoy easy conversation, and diners can enjoy both indoor and outdoor seating. We tried...More
I just read another review that could be mine. Backstreet used to be a favorite but we haven't been there in years. We were going to the theater in the neighborhood so we decided to give it a try. Wrong choice! Menu totally different -...More

I dined at Backstreet Cafe regularly for years, but had not been for about 3 years so we went back and planned to become a regular again. The food was a terrible disappointment. The unpleasant duck gumbo could have been canned! There were pieces of...More
