We had planned to celebrate a special occasion at Pappas. Our table was ready for us and we had an excellent server: there when we needed him, but not in our hair. Our aperitifs were delightful and so were our appetizers: Spanish Octopus and a...delicious Wedge salad. The Spanish octopus came finely sliced (carpaccio) with a divine light but flavorful sauce: Excellent! The bottle of wine I selected from the list was not available (first ding!), so we settled for another, similar wine. The Filet Mignon was OK, although not particularly tender, and my "Prime" Ribeye was anything but prime. While done to a perfect medium rare, it was chewy and crisscrossed with filaments. Definitely not a Prime cut and a disappointment at any steakhouse, particularly Pappas, which presumes to be a premier steakhouse. Overall, a good, but somewhat disappointing evening.More

We frequent Pappa Bros on special occasions and it literally never fails to deliver on quality and service. Our favorite restaurant for the last 20 years and my wife doesn't even really eat steak (she loves the salmon there).

For a place where I always regarded service as a hallmark, I was surprised. We were a party of 12 and service suffered as only one waiter was taking care of us, in addition to his other tables. I figured others would assist as the...night went on, clearing plates, etc. but didn't happen. So, service suffered and it impacted our enjoyment of the evening. Food excellent, as usual. Dining experience tonight, fair. Guess I need to stick with parties of 2 or 4.More

Everything was going perfectly; the hostess Fabiola was the best, our waitress Sydney incredible, the sommelier perfect, and our dinner just dreamy: oysters & crab cakes paired with Billecart Salmon Rose, lamb chops & au gratin potatoes paired with Châteauneuf-du-Pape Télégramme 2020… until we stepped...out to a patio table for a cigar. The table (which was previously reserved for us) was disgustingly dirty, to say the least, but the most frustrating part of the evening was the bartender's extremely rude attitude. Despite working in the luxury service industry and understanding the standard of service expected, this person, who happened to be of the same nationality as me, exhibited shocking behavior. I comprehend that it may not have been his primary responsibility, but as an employee, he should have taken care of our basic requests. Instead, he engaged in casual conversation with other customers at a nearby table and blatantly disregarded my polite request for assistance, responding with an offensive hand gesture. The exceptional service provided by so many others at this restaurant was marred by his appalling attitude and lack of professionalism, which left a bitter taste in our mouths. This level of customer service is unacceptable, especially in an establishment of this caliber. The management should definitely take action against this person who clearly does not like his job and is not trained or willing to do the least, and instead is driving away loyal customers that always have recommended this restaurant and while in Houston always dine thereMore

Nice decor. Valet parking. Excellent staff. As for food, it was fantastic. Bottom line, will go again. As for negatives, I don't have any.

Been to this location several times over the years and have never had a bad experience. Food and service is always on point. Had reservations made for a party of eight and had a last minute guest to add. The staff accommodated with only a...few minutes to wait.More

We have not been to this restaurant in probably 20 years. We learned it has been open for 28 years! Why did we stay away so long? Absolutely no idea!! We went to an early play at the A.D. Players across the street. We remembered...that a friend had given us a gift card to any Pappas restaurant, plus we had another “coupon” for this particular restaurant (with no expiration date) for $25. So we decided to check it out. The food was exquisite!! We had lobster (OMG!!!) and steak. After cocktails. We sat at the bar the entire evening. The triple bonus was being entertained by our bartender, Eduardo, who has worked at this restaurant since it’s inception. The three of us laughed all night long. Also behind the bar was the delightful Becca. It was like being in a home with good friends. In the bar they had live music with Janie on the piano. Her music, at just the right volume, was beautiful, adding a real elegance to our visit. We will be back!More

The food was to die for and their portions are really quite generous. Great fine dining experience with responsive and respectful staff. Only downside was the waiting time to be seated. However, their bar area where we waited wasn’t too bad either.

My husband and I went to Pappas Steakhouse to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary. It had been at least 5 years since we had been there so we decided it would be the perfect place to go for our special occasion. We were right… it...was perfect in every way! Beautiful and relaxing ambiance, waiter (Brandon, who was excellent!) and wait staff (every one we encountered wished us a happy anniversary!) and incredibly delicious steak and lamb chops! Highly, highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion! You will not regret it!More

This is a Houston mainstay.. There are many steakhouses but none with the consistency in quality, service and experience. This is a must try when in Houston. People travel from all over Texas to eat here for special occassions. My husband and I always celebrate...our anniversary here because it always is a superb experience and my husband is a filet snob.. Filet is the cut to get and it is like butter. Fabulous sides but they give a lot so it's good to share the sides. You can't go wrong iwth anything on this menu. Turtel Soup is a must. Desserts are fabulous.More

Great place for a business/family outing. We had a business dinner - the food was really good - wine list great. Though they did not have wines listed but the ones we got were good. The steaks were good and sides delicious. Christian was our...server and ensured that we were well taken care of. Would definitely go back.More

The restaurant is about 35 min from the airport, and could take a bit longer depending on the time of day. It will be totally worth the distance!
