So... went here with clients who swear by this. It is inexpensive, but I found the food to be very pedestrian and the service, while good, the guy was kind of annoying. The weird tables are too small for 4 pople. The espresso machine was broken. But it was very reasoable and you get a lot of food.

I have been going to Fred's for over 20 years. The food never disappoints and they are truly a hidden gem in this city.

In a generic strip center near the medical center but the marinara sauce is some of the best in Houston. The chicken parm wins my "Best of Houston" award. The meatball sub ranks in the top 10 percent. Service is always friendly.

Probably could be everyone's kind of place - couples, families, all ages and stages! Everything was very good. We had entrees that included salads and bread - all served promptly but without rushing us at all. We are already planning a trip with friends next week. Also outdoor seating that was tempting!

I liked this restaurant because it was not a chain and your average Olive garde. I gave this place a 4 out of 5 because of my order. I ordered the chicken masala and feel the sauce was just a little to watery and oily. The meal was great and the service was fine with friendly staff. I would go... More

It's seen better days. Years ago, the food was consistently delicious. Lately, a shadow of it's former self. Maybe new owners? The lasagna was one notch above Stouffer's. What happened? Bugs crawling everywhere in the restroom. We ran out and won't return. Sorry.

We dont live near Fred's but decided to try it because it is near the med center where we work. Great traditional Italian food with courteous service. It is not a fast food place, take the time to enjoy your meal. We have two small children and we dont feel that the service is slow. In addition to wonderful lasagna... More

If you want to get away from a national chain restaurant, this is the place to go. The lasagna was delicious and a healthy portion size, not too much. The side salad that came with dinner was too much.

This is a small, independent restaurant with personalized service and a nice menu selection. It is not the flashiest place in town, but the food and service are consistently great.

we bought a groupon voucher and were very excited to try " authentic italian food" as we have had some really great italian food all over Italy we were sorely disappointed. First of all it was a long wait to even see a waiter come around and finally I had to wave one over after we have been sitting for... More
