The fun of being in a roomful of local folks is as good as the chef-developed special dishes. The chef's mom builds the world-class pies from scratch. The award-winning mac 'n cheese side is incredible. We enjoy Thursday night's Dollar Rib Night every week with friends. PieDay Friday's $1 slices is a local favorite. And the bar.....oh, the bar!!! wife and I stopped for lunch recently, and had a burger. it was ok, but there are others around much better. nice atmosphere, but the service was incredibly slow and unhelpful. I had to actually walk up to counter and request more drinks and the check. they advertised their pies, but after a so-so experience, we decided to just leave.... More

Sadler's is a third generation family owned restaurant with great food and neat decorations inside the old city jail. Ilove their chicken and dumplings. Owner Rob Gowin is a popular figure in Jacksonville and a good chef. His mom makes great pies. The place is open Thursday through Sunday for dining.

Always great to go to Robs, great food, great atmosphere, just hanging out with family and friends. From home cooking to jalapeño and cream cheese stuffed filet's, there's something on the menu for everyone. Don't miss out

I just had one fabulous meal at Sadler's in Jacksonville. It is located in the old jailhouse building on Bonner St.. This is the freshest, most mouthwatering food I've had in a long time! Fresh fried okra, fresh homemade mashed potatoes, and delectable barbecue sandwiches!!! Excellent, excellent service to boot. And the pies are homemade and out of this world!!!!... More

Our group of 8 received excellent service including adjusting the A/C to accommodate us. One of the specials that evening was Shrimp and Grits. It was very good, and the portion was large enough to enjoy again the next day for lunch. We choose grilled asparagus for our side and I don't believe I've ever had better. The salad was... More

I wasn't sure from the outside that this would be as good as the reviews but I was wrong. Wonderful comfort food and great atmosphere. The pot roast was perfect and all the sides were great. We ordered shrimp as an appetizer which was a little scary for deep east Texas but it was some of the best fried shrimp... More

My wife and I were looking for a light meal for the evening. Nice place, friendly staff and great service. I had the brisket nachos and my wife had the brisket quesadillas. We sampled a couple of local craft beers. The food was great, the BBQ sauce was awesome! The beer was not to be outdone. The coconut pie was... More

The food is okay. I ate here with a friend one night and our food did take a while to come out. My friend had chips and dip and I had a bunch of veggies. Not really sure what took so long. There asparagus is really good. I also love their chocolate pie. It's an old jail that they turned... More
