First time here. Had the clam strips, fried perfect and tasty, salad was cold, fresh and good, homemade ranch dressing, again good. The sweet potato french fries were excellent as was the coleslaw. The portions were large- needed a to-go box. This place has a good menu and seems to specialize in catfish, the platters going to other tables looked... More

This is a local favorite and offers a varied selection of seafood. Prices are competitive and discounts are offered to seniors, of which there are many in Kerrville. I like to eat here on Friday because they have a wonderful lobster bisque soup on that day. I can order the "Pick Two" and get a huge bowl of soup, a... More

The food quality and staff service were both very good. The view of the river is excellent. The setting is very casual.

I had a hankering for seafood today and had not been here before. The portions were large and tasty! I had the popcorn shrimp with fried okra and the wife had the gumbo. There was lots of seating and the service was very good. I'd definitely eat here again! Being over 60 allowed for a smaller portion at a smaller... More

Eaten here many times over the years and always enjoy the catfish. Service is fast and pleasant, despite it being a heavy Friday night. I like that they give you the check with the food and you pay as you leave. Wife had the grilled shrimp salad and said the shrimp were very fresh. I had fried catfish and it... More

Went on granddaughter's choice as she wanted popcorn shrimp. The restaurant has lots of views of the Guadalupe River and can accommodate large family seating. The menu has lots of food choices besides seafood to match its name. Typical Texas cafe or diner type menu, fried foods like chicken fried steak or chicken, chicken strips burgers soups and salads. The... More

We were told to go to The Lakehouse if we liked Catfish. We were not disappointed. If you like home town feel and good food this is the place to go. We dined sever times and the place was always packed. I had the catfish and my wife had some other dish and went back to the catfish.

We celebrated our love on Valentine's day at the Lakehouse. Quaint decor with a view of the Guadeloupe River. It is not fancy but it is comfortable with memorabilia all around. The food and service was excellent. I had the fried Catfish dinner and my husband had the Chicken Fried Steak. The catfish was excellent - the best I have... More
