I was in Kilgore, Texas on business and stopped at The Back Porch for take out. I had the Chef Salad, Loaded Baked Potato Soup, and Fried Pickles. The service was fast and all were very friendly! The food was absolutely amazing! Thanks!

A family favorite for lunch or dinner. A very friendly and reasonable menu with burgers the specialty . Nighttime on weekends can get a bit noisy ( not a problem for most patrons) due to live bands in the bar section. Definitely a must stop in Kilgore.

This is one of my favorite hamburger restaurants in East Texas. It has great cheese burgers, hamburgers and onion rings. They also have free hush puppies and very good brown beans for the diners to enjoy with their meal. This restaurant serves beer, so it is popular with many locals for lunch and even has entertainment on some nights.

Typical Texas BBQ, but with all the hush puppies and beans you can eat. Nice outside, but sheltered area, if you wish to eat there.

This is a real "down home" kind of place and if you're visiting east Texas from out of state, it's not to be missed. The Back Porch has added on considerably and also features wait service now - something it didn't have when I first came here 5 years ago. The food is basic beef (vegetarians would not be well-accommodated... More

My husband and I go here often on the weekends to listen to live music ($5 cover) and watch College Football on Saturday nights! They have a good variety of bands perform and a full bar!!! Free beans & hushpuppies are always a great plus!! I am sad that they don't have burritos anymore, but other than that they have... More

We had take out burgers and they were huge and yummy. Ready when told and very good. Not comfortable with eating at the restaurant. Will go in for a drink and the great fried pickles.

The Back Porch used to have some of the BEST burgers in East Texas, but not anymore! Ate there for lunch, and the service was poor and our food was cold. The only thing that saved our meal, was the beans. While I like the newly expanded building, it seems sine things were compromised. We will not be going back!

This is a great place to unwind. They serve delicious homemade burgers and fries. There are complimentary beans and hush puppies while you wait for your order. Sorta the sports bar atmosphere but is very family oriented. Close to a junior college. All age groups eat here for lunch and dinner. Cold beer is available.

Pretty good atmosphere for small town restaurant. Food brought to tables cold. Sonic might be better choice.

Serving our community for over 25 years.
Jackie and Vicki have built a legend at The Back Porch. The Clayton's have owned the Back Porch since 1990 but the history goes back to the 1960"s when the business was a pool hall owned by the infamous Harry Crow.
Starting off with burgers being their specialty they use only fresh unfrozen meat, and the menu was originally very simple; big and little burgers and large homemade fries. Now the menu has a large variety of delicious entrees to choose from. GREAT FOOD NOT FAST FOOD
Complimentary beans and hush puppies while you wait for your meal.
The Clayton's were born and raised in Kilgore...just good down-home people serving the community they love.
