The food is world class BBQ. Brisket was worth the cost. If I could bottle the smell of all the cooking they do.

After a morning driving around and enjoying the wildflowers, we stopped for a late lunch. For about 20 years Laird's was our favorite BBQ place in Llano. Today we dined inside because of the wind. We had a BBQ beef sandwich and a BBQ chicken plate. The sandwich had only five small pieces of meat on a big bun. The... More
Had a quick stop at Lairds BBQ. It was a Wonderful family home opened up for guests. We had the grilled chicken (super moist) and baked potato which was excellent. The brisket and sausage plate was a good choice as well. Make sure to get the homemade poppyseed dressing. Didn't have room for desert!
Laird's is in a house in on one of the main streets in Llano. We've been to Cooper's which is a much larger operation, has good food, but isn't as personal. Laird's is personal. Perhaps not much to look at, it is clean, and the food delicious. I had a rib plate with traditional sides of coleslaw and beans. Meaty,... More
We stopped at Laird's on our way to Austin. This is a quaint little place with good food and very casual atmosphere. There were customers eating on the patio and several inside. We had the chopped beef sandwich and the beef and sausage sandwich. Both were very tasty. Not too much smoke and NOT smothered in sauce. Even though the... More
This is a converted house that has two rooms dedicated to the restaurant. The sliced beef was dry and overcooked. The potato salad, beans, and sauce were good. The business has been for sale for a few years now. Not my favorite but it will do as an occasional change.
In a recent stay in Llano we were looking for a good place to get a steak and our hosts suggested we go to Laird's. We had a great meal and good conversation with some of the other patrons. We were so full but couldn't resist getting pecan pie to go. It was so good for a midnight snack.
I love eating BBQ. Ordered my meal. Sliced sandwich and 2 pork ribs. Got distracted in conversation and when I turned to pay for my order, the lady pulled my ribs from the microwave. Well that's not cool considering the pit smoking outside. She had to heat them up. Then she says that will be $16.27. I almost fell over.... More
My fiance and I were craving bbq while visiting hill country. On our way back from Enchanted Rock, we found this little bbq place right off the road. We thought it was a good place to stop and eat, then hop back along our way. This place has no flare and the pickens are simple. The side items are either... More
