You can't beat Cafe J for a nice meal close to Tech. We've been many times over the years for both brunch and dinner, and we've never been disappointed.

Not at all what I expected - a delicious treat on a rainy night. Wonderful atmosphere, hip, eclectic and "artsy", an international feel, with modern music in the background. Waiter was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. They have a full wine list with a wide selection. My waiter recommended a cab that went very well with the house special for the... More

Directly across from the Texas Tech campus, this is a nice restaurant where we stopped for Brunch en route to Santa Fe. The French toast was super light and airy, and the coconut pancakes were fantastic too. Coffee was delicious and plentiful. Service was attentive.

My wife and I came for Valentine's Day. The menu was slightly restricted, but a reasonable $90 for both, considering the quality. We each started with a crab-stuffed portobello mushroom appetizer, which was delicious. Then there was a Watermelon-Serrano Sorbet pallet cleanser that was surprising and delightful, with a spicy kick that hit your pallet perfectly just at the end.... More

This is a great place to go to wine and dine some one. We love eating here. The food is good, the atmosphere is good and the service is off the charts! During the week you can get a table most nights but on the weekend you need to make reservations. If Tech is playing in town most assuredly make... More

We had a business meeting at Cafe J and I was pretty satisfied with the salad I had. There was a teriyaki glazed salmon salad that a few of us got that was really good. The portion size was good enough to fill us up and it had good flavor. It wasn't busy at all around 11:45 so it wasn't... More

My mom and I ate here for dinner. The restaurant had great ambiance. We had a cheese tray which was awesome. There was a raspberry chipotle preserve that was amazing. They even sold me a jar of it so I could take it home. Top notch service! Nice wine list also! The duck breast was awesome & the teriyaki salmon... More

We were there on a Wednesday evening and ate out on the patio. The service was excellent and they have a nice wine list. The food was also very good. Prices are above average. We would go back.
